Agree with most of this, but you have to put Thomas at the top of 38, he is definitely the better of the two

I'm guessing Easter will stay at 132.

I look for Winegardner @ 170 and Buttry @ 182.

My thoughts on this would be as follows:

106-- Burkett (ridge) Beeman NS, Thomas CT and Boyce Berlin are a toss up for 2nd, 3rd and 4th
113--Gabriel (Bedford), DeArmitt (Berlin) Dunlap (Ridge) Wild Card here may be Griffith from Twp, Klotz (Everett)
120- Swank (Berlin), Synder (Hyndman), Jano (Somerset) Wild Card Mehle (Bedford)
126- Ofsanko (CT), Deremer (Ridge), Custer (Berlin) Wild Card Warren (Bedford)
132-Easter(Bedford), Hetrick (Meyersdale), Shank (Ridge) Wild Card McKenzie (Berlin)
138-Thomas (Bedford), Claar (Ridge), Mckenzie (Meyersdale) Wild Card Fabian (Somerset)
145-Fochtman(Berlin), Crouse (Ridge), Mostotler (NS) Wild Card (This weight will be changed if Diest from Meyersdale drops down)
152-Chaill(Berlin), Crouse (Ridge), Diest (Meyersdale) Wild Cards Firtch (NS) Laue (Somerset) Eicelberger (NB) Barnett (TM)
160-Fochtman(Berlin) Then its anyones guess maybe Hutzell (Meyersdale) Strassier (NS) Wild cards in this weight may be the field
170- Lohr (Somerset) ,Charleton (NS), Kolinchak (NB) Wild Cards Moore(Berlin), Winegardner (Ridge)
182-Berkley(Meyersdale), Buttry (Ridge), Conner (NS) Wild Cards Williams (Bedford)
195-Bennett(Hyman), Eller (Somerset) Chaill(Berlin) Wild Cards
220-Smith (Meyersdale), Trulick (Berlin), Horner (NS)
HWT-Buttry(Ridge), Reed (Ev), Collins (Berlin) Wild Card Brown (Shade)

I am sure some of the weights will shift around a bit and change these predictions.
After observation I would say our district will be weak in 106,120,126, 160 I am not knocking these guys just saying the depth is not there this year.
The 160lb class looks to be wide open in regions as well

The upper weights will be fairly tough with the toughest class maybe being 152

I look for Ridge to win D5 followed closely by Berlin and Bedford

Nice try wrasslingking & newguy but: :)
But I'll wait till after the Bedford tournament. I think there will be some weight changes then.
I agree I think Easter will be @ 126 and Thomas @ 132. Mostoller is already @ 138, Fritch @ 145 and Straisser @ 152. (all were there for their last match). Just to name a few and there probably be more.

I honestly dont think Easter will be dropping. Why drop when you dont have to? Also, i'd probably put Thomas ahead of Claar. That'll be a great match though.

Thomas barely beat Mostoller, it was a good match.. Claar didn't even make it look close with the 6-2 decision, if they would go at it again I would say Claar majors Mostoller

And if Fritch doesn't go up to 160 then I think he will go down to 145, also I forgot Lohr @ 170 :o I'm so stupid! Lohr will dominate at Districts!

Why not drop if you can?

I assume we agree on the end goal: winning state tournament

So ... all other things being equal (ie. caliber of wrestlers in all weights is the same), isn't everyone more likely to do best at the lowest weight possible? Isn't that "by definition"?

So ... why would Easter not drop, assuming he can? I'd guess he'd only not drop if the caliber of expected competition at Hershey is greater at the lower weight. How common is that? Is that what's happening here?

I disagree bcor. Dropping the the lowest weight possible doesn't give the best chance of winning states. Right now Zeke Moisey is ranked 1 at 126 and at 132 Easter and Shoop are the highest ranked wrestlers. If weights hold as the ranking are Easter has a much better chance of winning and beating the field at 132 then Moisey at 126.

Also remember a few years back Reasy from NBC jumped 2 weights UP and placed 3rd at states. That particular year he may not have finished any better then that at District 5.
