What eludes me is those on the private school side of this issue don't see the wisdom of separate championships. They believe that public funds should be used to allow students to attend all private schools but they never ask themselves why over 85% of voters in this commonwealth are adamantly opposed to this. They don't take the time to think about what goes through the mind of those 85% when the question is asked; Should public funds be used to send students to schools like BECCA? I can assure them that the first and only thing that goes through these voters minds is "What? even more kids could join these schools and beat up on us due to unlimited geographic boundaries? No way. No way."

So there it is. Private school parents paying K through 12 tuition, all the while being in favor of the athletic disparity that perpetuates the public sentiment that prohibits public funds being available to them. They are paying through the nose for tainted banners when, in time, they could hang legitimate banners anyone would be proud of and save themselves a fortune in tuition.

I was very bored today and decided to see if i could find the original schools of last years BECCA's team, it didnt take to much looking other than googling their names and what schools/towns they had listed at PAJW's, considering most qualified for jr states. Basically their team is a D-11 all-star team. Here is what i found:
These were all the kids who qualified for regionals/states last year 2013

106 Luke Karam last school listed in PAJW Moore Township (Northampton High School) Northampton County, District 11

113 Stephen Maloney (Brother of Mark Maloney used info from Mark) Fleetwood, PA, Fleetwood high school, Berks County District 3

120 Darian Cruz last school listed in PAJW was Catasauqua, Lehigh County district 11

126 Zeke Moisey last school listed in PAJW Northampton High School, Northampton County district 11

132 Lee Todora Last school listed in PAJW Emmaus High School, Lehigh County, District 11

138 Ryan Todora Last school listed in PAJW Emmaus High School, Lehigh County, District 11

152 Mark Maloney “Be Recruited” profile reads hometown is Fleetwood, PA, Fleetwood high school, Berks County District 3

160 Connor Hedash last school listed PAJW Northern Lehigh Lehigh County, Ditrict 11

170 Nick Cortopassi from what I found is originally from new jersey

182 Jose Ortiz last school listed Bethlehem Area ( School district has 2 high school Liberty and Freedom) Lehigh County District 11

285 Andrew Dunn Last school listed in PAJW Emmaus High School, Lehigh County, District 11

This is a shame. When this kind of stuff happens and the wrestling is not the center of the attention that's whenever something needs to be done. The problem with this though is PIAA rakes a good portion of their revenue from successful schools like BC. Will something be done? No. Do I sit here and hope? You better bet I do. Just a shame

What a well researched post! When Palisades gets its punishment from the PIAA they should take this post with them!!!

thanks coach, it makes sense as to why their team is so strong. BECCA's team reminds me of Shady Side a few years ago. Just doesn't seem quite fair for academies to recruit the way they do.

If palisades receives a punishment for doing what they did they should retain a lawyer and sue the PIAA. Do exactly what the privates threaten when a private classification is talked about. Where are all the private supporters on here now. How can you defend what is going on at BECCA? The sad thing is what is happening there is happening in other sports in other places too. PIAA are you out there , Mr. Cashman any comments. Time to step up and stop this crap. Congrats to palisades for doing what should have been done a long time ago, they took a stand!

I believe the ultimate statement. Would be for all the teams at Hershey to make a stand against BECAHI and refuse to wrestle them. They are going to win it anyways and everyone knows that so why not make a stand at the State Dual Championships. That would surely send the message to PIAA

mcdanimal, that sounds really good in theory but personally i could never do that, im way to competitive. i understand that BECCA is basically a lock to win the duals but my competitive nature wouldn't allow me to not wrestle.

It's good that you're competitive, I was in high school myself, but in this situation I think I would swallow my pride and go forth with that. BECCA's stranglehold on state duals isn't an accomplishment, it's pathetic, they are one of the richest schools in pa wrestling a bunch of single A schools and they think its a coincidence they are having all this success? Spare me, spare everybody else who plays nice and by the rules and doesn't get together an all star team to bully smaller competition.
