Yeah congrats to the team the team that didn't even play in the qualifying league for that tournament .
They haven't played in that league for like 10 years.
The Altoona league director put the state tournament at BG and then changed the rules to make the BG Jr. high team eligible.
I think a team from Ebensburg got cheated out of playing.

HaHa. Rules? Since when do rules apply at BG? This shouldn't shock anyone. They just do what they want. Gee, knowing that they have all those new players and could win the thing probably had nothing to do with them getting the rules bent and hosting???? They got some people involved (not necessarily coaches) that are good at manipulating rules and people. I just hope the PIAA catches up to them some day but they could care less. I’m just surprised that the other players and parents at BG, that have been in their system since grade school, don’t get fed up with it. Let's hear from you guys. Does winning, at any cost, all that matters for the BG girl’s program? I'm hoping a few of you will sound off. At least SFB14 has been here and posted his honest views. He had two sons that played basketball at BG and doesn't like the boy's program lumped in with the girls.

This is as bad as it has been there in some time. At least when Ali Williams and that group came through they were true BG kids. You have to go back before her to find it this bad when they had players from Williamsburg, State College, Hollidaysburg, Tyrone and others transferring in for their high school years for one purpose only. They should at least change the name of their school to maybe, The Central Pennsylvania Catholic Regional High School.

I was wondering about that myself, I thought Johnstown and Ebensburg schools were the only participating members in the Diocesan playoffs.

Another good article today in the Altoona Mirror on BG’s use of virtual school days next year to eliminate snow days. Why did the Altoona Mirror go to the superintendent of the Spring Cove school district to get his views on this? LOL Nobody else wanted to comment? Altoona? Hollidaysburg? Nope, just Spring Cove. I did enjoy BG’s principals comments, “We, too, are brick and mortar , and face-to-face time is important, although I think we have a very collegiate atmosphere here.” That is very true, they can recruit as good as any collegiate program out there and have students from all over. They would fit in with the SEC. That’s a good nickname for them. Uof BG. Fits well I think.
