Very true Crimson it's all PSU can win and they are winning it. However, it is 1 more thing than Pitt can win this year. I've enjoyed watching Pitt fans reasoning behind Franklin. It started with "It's easy to talk about dominating the state, but lets see him do it" Now it's "ya he is good at recruiting but he didn't beat a winning team at Vandy" Meanwhile, Vandy is a much more difficult school to win at than Pitt and have won 9 games in each of the last 2 seasons in a better conference than Pitt. Pitt fans would be circle jerkin each other over that kind of result. Heck, they were at 7 wins this year. 3 years ago Pitt fans were licking their chops for the 2016 Pitt - Penn State game. I would say it's not trending well right now for Pitt.

As for Pitt's recruiting, it's not good to say the least. Givens was talked about as the best linebacker in PA since Arrington, yet his offers are temple and Western Michigan. None of these kids are getting offers right now and if Bowers got a PSU offer he'd be gone. If Paul Chryst stays at Pitt(I hope so) and Franklin is at PSU, things will be pretty easy in state for Penn State.

Yeah, I said if I were a PSU fan or if this was going on at Pitt I'd be ecstatic. This right now is the best thing that can happen to the Penn State program, and has been their best news in quite a long time. I also said this is well beyond a PSU-Pitt thing, PSU is beating almost everyone.

Pitt has to worry about Miami and Va Tech, PSU has to worry about Ohio State and Michigan. I think the jury is still out on Chryst's recruiting. I was pleased with the past two classes, and if he can develop some of these under-the-radar guys, it will work out well for Pitt. They have an opportunity this year where they avoid all the tough ACC teams, and their toughest nonconference game features a middle-tier Iowa team. The Coastal is so down, that a 5-3 conference record could have Pitt playing for an ACC title. A lot of Paul Chryst's future, and the program's for that matter, hinges on whether they can do better than 6-6 this season, and take that step forward. If he still can beat Virginia Tech, but lose one to FIU, the program isn't going in the right direction, and Chryst's seat would have to be getting hot.

As far as the three committed players, I personally like what I see on film. Maybe if Bowers played for a more notable program than Kittaning, he would have more offers? Recruiting is a crap shoot sometimes. I like the 3 players Pitt has so far, but I'm interested to see the class beyond them. As I've said earlier, Western PA isn't loaded this year by any measure. 2016-2017 classes actually do have some studs from noted Pitt pipelines, those will be interesting battles between Pitt, PSU, and Ohio State...even WVU with Bradley. If Chryst loses out guys like Aaron Mathews, Lamont Wade, Miles Sanders ect....that won't be good.

Aaron Matthews - Pitt lock
Miles Sanders - PSU
Damar Hamlin - not sure.

Did they offer Sanders yet? I know Michigan was on him early. I think Pitt will get Matthews also. The young kid from Clairton is going to be a big time recruit, sophomore Lamont Wade. I know it's early, but he will be a top 100 kid by the time of his senior year.


A few more higher profile WPIAL juniors, Aidan Howard. 6'5 WR from Gateway, he could possibly blow up with his size. Jeremiah Jones from Woody Hills has an NC State and Indiana offer already. Kaezon Pugh from Aliquippa should be a good recruit, I bet WVU will try to be all over him. Khaleke Hudson from McKeesport has 5 offers himself. So overall, 2016 WPIAL should be more talented than this year.


I also noticed Imhotep and St. Joe's from Philly will be loaded too in 2016. NEXT year for Pennsylvania will be big.

No offer yet for Sanders. Still 21 months from signing day for those prospects. So much can happen between now.
