upnorth, those are some valid links. Indeed, there have certainly been several incidents over the last several years in which Pitt football players were in the wrong.
Since you shared these links, would you like me to publish the EXTREMELY LENGTHY LIST (now at well over 100 different individuals) of PSU players and coaches who have committed crimes during the last decade?
Just let me know and I'll be happy to publish it here as I have many times before, complete with references and links.
Those who often post here are VERY familiar with that list. It's now significantly more lengthy that it was 3-4 years ago when I posted it, as you can imagine.
The big difference between the links you post about Pitt is that on the PSU list which I have, those players who committed acts similar or worse (like beating undergrads silly, shooting arrows through apartment walls, etc.) were allowed to continue playing or at worst picked up trash at The Beav on Sunday mornings. Any disciplinary measures for football players beyond cleaning the stadium or running extra wind sprints after practice would simply not be tolerated by the great disciplinarian and teacher of life Joe Paterno. Anyone who tried to intervene to implement the student code of conduct was silenced and squashed (see Vicky Tripponey.)
As for the coaches, leaders, and professor emeritus who committed crimes or knowingly covered up crimes against young boys...Well, we know all about that story, right upnorth?
