Penn State at Indiana Open Thread
Re: Penn State at Indiana Open Thread
Obviously not a lot of interest in this game. On espn.com, went to their college football site where fans post comments about each game. Only 48 comments this late in the week. Usually their are many, many more by now. Could the thrill be gone?

Why are you so concerned about the "thrill" of PSU football??? This is like the 4th post I've seen u mention it. And # of comments on a website I'm sure is a great way to gage the "thrill" level.
You play to win the game!!!

Hey, it's like nobody cares as much as they used to, that's all. Just find it odd that interest in PSU football is down right now. Fair weather fans? If this was a PSU home game, how may fans would show up for this one?

Well actually Moldo attendance is up this year from last year. How many other teams can get 100,000 people to come out and watch a .500 team. Not many, if any.
Re: Penn State at Indiana Open Thread
I think the OSU game was the only game that actually had over 100,000 in attendance. That game will ALWAYS be a sellout year after year, no matter what. AND PSU was 4-2 at the time, not 4-4.

Last week against Maryland the attendance was 103,969.
Re: Penn State at Indiana Open Thread
That was tickets sold. According to BWI, there were 10,000 LESS in actual attendance. And remember, many tickets were sold as groups. Soooooooo....to get a ticket for a BIG game, you bad to buy a ticket for a less attractive game. Irregardless, you can sense the thrill is gone. No one even wants to TALK these next games, except for MSU.
Re: Penn State at Indiana Open Thread
There wouldn't be much juice for PSU/Indiana even in a better year. It's just not an attractice matchup. As for the "thrill" being gone, I can only say that it isn't for me. I look forward every week to either attending home games or watching the road games I don't travel to on tv. I've been to games at Indiana and they leave much to be desired, unless of course you like 25,000-30,000 empty seats for an 11:00 a.m. kick.
I for one would welcome a discussion about Penn State football anytime but on this forum but you can't do that in any kind of constructive way because you end up dealing with 3-4 people who wouldn't say anything positive (or heck forget positive, it doesn't have to be that, just somewhat objective) about the university or program, even if it was the only way to get a loved one released from being held hostage at gun point. I would be willing to be bet that's it's not a lack of interest here but after a while you come to the realization that it is a waste of time. I know I have things I'd like to say on the topic but just don't because it's a waste of time.

Moldy, a Pitt fan, talking about Penn State attendance and the thrill being gone....is like
This girl telling Mila Kunis she isn't that hot.

I would love to talk about actual PSU football but it is virtually impossible to do online. Anytime you try to talk about the game it ends up with a troll turning the conversation into scandals and stuff like that, so now I just talk about actual football on Saturday afternoons with my buddies.
