I'm a realist..without those guys those teams are not even close to the same team. Whitehead saved CV several times this year. Jeanette, as good as Hill was, doesn't get close...Pryor was his Jordan, he was Pippin....and no WAY was clairton going to win without Boyd...come on, get real. Animus, I do respect your opinions and posts but those guys carried their teams to hershey gold.

Bill...South Williamsport had 1 player, Bragalone. Berlin had 1 player, Fochtman. Clairton, CV, and Jeannette did not have just 1 player. Yes, their stars are absolutely great, there is no denying that. But, Jeannette had Hall along with a few others. Clairton had Howard and Webb who are both at Pitt as well as a few others. The previous poster mentioned the talent CV has. There is a MAJOR difference between South and Berlin and their 1 player and the three teams I just mentioned and their 1 player. Im not going to go back and forth on this with you, but those are the facts.

Yeah, it's rare you only have one player that can win a state championship.
Jordan Hall was a four-star recruit. That's a pretty good running mate to Pryor. I think they had a kid that went on to play at Buffalo too.
Clairton had two other Pitt players besides Boyd
A good player can take you really far, but having that second player is what usually gets you to Hershey.

I dont know about that, think they would of made it to WPIAL semis at least without Whitehead, that team is loaded with talented players. John George, BJ Powell, Preston Johnson, Rocco Martini and Ryan Roberson would of been good enough for 2nd in Parkway and at least a couple wins in D7 playoffs.
Exactly. These people are just assuming a team is a one man show just due to a pedigree of a player, failing to realize that these teams have more than one player. It's not like CV is feeding Whitehead the rock 46 times for 400+ yards.

Yes, those individuals carried the teams on their backs, I get that. But it's NOT like these aforementioned teams were just a one man show.
As for Clairton, I doubt there is a win streak, without Boyd; however, the 2012 team would've won gold w/out Boyd. Do you know how many players St. Francis has from Clairton. There's quite a few ballers on Cal U as well. More than half the Sr. lineup from that 2012 team is playing college ball somewhere.

Yeah they actually use Whitehead as a decoy a lot. Teams are so worried about him, Powell is often left wide open or at least with a defender on him that he can easily beat. Powell scored the GW TD at Heinz because all 22 eyes were on Whitehead.
Roberson is very talented RB, sort of like a Whitehead-lite and I think he would of touched the rock a lot more if Johnson didnt transfer in a couple years ago from Rochester. Johnson is a better compliment to Whitehead though being a big hard running type RB. If Whitehead would of got hurt though, I think they turn to Roberson.
And John George is a heckuva dual threat QB.
Central Valley is a complete football team, the best AAA squad the WPIAL has sent to the PIAA playoffs in like at least 7 years. They are probably an underdog to Archbishop Wood but I'm sure CV will keep it interesting.

CV will keep it interesting. If they can beat McDevitt, they can beat Wood. It wont be easy...but they can play with them.

Ehhh, Wood is probably double digit favorites on McDevitt too.
Whitehead can make things interesting.
