Nice way to start off the week. At pre-game warm-ups tonight against Kansas at home, the entire Georgetown Hoya basketball team wore "I Can't Breathe" shirts. They are the 1st college team to do so. They are now officially on my $hit list. Not because of their views on the Garner case, but because this is not the time and place for protest. When people come to a venue to be entertained, they should NOT be subject to this kind of crap. Maybe at their next home game, the Hoyas can have Bruce Springsteen sing the National Anthem, and then stop half way thru it and give a diatribe on the faults of George Bush. Maybe the rich, white people, who buy most of the season tickets at the Georgetown games, should just show people what racism really is by cancelling their tickets for next year.

My predictions for tonights game are Duquesne will shoot 80% from 3 and make it a very close game. PSU wins 71-68

Duquesne can shoot, and that's their game. They average around 80 points a game. Colter, Mason, Stevens. All under 6'3" and they can stroke it.

Newbill, Travis, and Taylor all had very bad games and they found a way to win. In years past there is no way they could win a game with three key players having bad games. It was nice to see other guys step up and carry the team. I think it shows the program is moving in the right direction.

Pretty evenly matched game.

Each team shot 4-19 from behind 3. Each team committed 11 turnovers. They combined for 45 total team fouls. It was not a pretty game at all with all the whistles. Duquesne lost the game at the foul line. Missed a lot down the stretch. Duquesne was 12-21 from the line. PSU wasn't much better with 20-28. Otherwise, Duquesne out-rebounded the Lions, and they had a slightly higher shooting percentage. Geno Thorpe played a nice game off the bench, hustled and went 11-14 from the foul line by himself. Duquesne had a tough time staying in front of him.

Stevens, Colter, and Mason like to let them fly from behind the arc, and they were a combined 3-14, so if they aren't making them, and they still went on the road and hung tough, that's a good sign for them. I think this Duquesne coach is doing a nice job, and he only has one senior on the whole team, they may piece together a nice run next year if everyone sticks around.

I think Penn State plays George Washington next, very winnable, but they aren't bad either.

Pitt shouldn't take the Bonnies lightly, but at the same time, I think they can play with some confidence after settling down from that whirlwind to start the year. This will be the first game the team has played at the Petersen Events Center since November 16. I don't care who you are playing, or where you are playing - It's rare for a good program to go nearly a whole month without a game in their own gym.

Josh Newkirk has really come on for Pitt lately, i'm interested to see if he can continue his hot play of late. Cameron Wright should be mixed into the rotation this week. I'm hoping to see him play 10-12 minutes, and get his feet wet so to speak.

Pat Chambers has been saying all year this is the deepest team he has had at Penn State. It really was evident last night. Jack and Thorpe added over 30 points and 15 rebounds from just 2 bench positions. John Johnson, Payton Banks, and Julian Moore all contributed productive minutes during some foul trouble. Penn State has 10 players that can at compete athletically once they get on the floor. Johnson scored almost 20 against Marshall.

Last night and against Marshall, Penn State tried their best to cough up a double digit 2nd half lead. Penn State loses to any B1G opponent playing the way they did last night. With that said, they have now have matched their start in 2000. I don't know when the last time Penn State started 10-1 or better?
