I understand the numbers thing, but Altoona has played schools like Hollidaysburg, BG, Clearfield, Chestnut Ridge, Penn Cambria and Tyrone in Junior Highin the past. So if they played the same team in Jr. High what's the difference to play them or schools of that size or slightly bigger 3-4 yrs later? If they are put in a bigger school conference with teams like Johnstown and Somerset

this is an interesting topic. I think it hurts teams like Hlldybrg, Toona, and even Indiana...you build programs on many things, and one of them that is very important is local rivalries...not just your main rival, but other area schools.  Altoona's Franco went there to build, but it's really hard to get kids out because they really don't care about beating teams/kids from Pittsburgh...there's just no feeling in doing that. There are many schools I'd like to see drop out of D7 and move back to the center of the state. I just don't understand the logic. Homer did the right thing with the Tigers, hopefully others will follow...until we finally get what should be, REGIONS, not districts.
and you're correct in stating that State College won't be leaving the Midd Penn...it's a good league..one I wish would be beneficial for Hollidaysburg..but again, distance....however, they would have a few local games in SC and WM...

Makes zero sense. They will be 5A with several others in their immediate area.
