Game is on grass this week. I thought it had to be played on turf. No big deal...so long as the field doesn't become magically wet and muddy the day of the game...

PIAA State Quarterfinal game with Clairton will be played this Friday at 7 PM at Conemaugh Twp. High School. We were pushing for Richland or Johnstown to play on the turf since Somerset can't host the game but District 5 said they wanted to keep it at a District 5 school. Hopefully it doesn't rain all week

Please tell me that Berlin school district did not inform Clariton of game location by Facebook message.    You know Wayne Wade is just going to use game location  to fire up his troops
Thank you for the over-analyzation. Berlin Facebook posts to inform the parents and fans. Not to message Clairton. Thanks again

Wayne Wade? You mean Lamont Wade. Clariton by 20+. 5 D1 athletes for them compared to none for berlin. gonna be ugly fast.

More milage numbers:

Clariton to Davidsville 1hour 28 min 80 miles
Berlin to Davidsville 33min       28 miles

2014
Clariton to Elizabeth.  3 min. 2.3 miles
Berlin to Elizabeth.  1 hour 23 min.  67 miles

Camp hill to Hollidaysburg 2 hours 8 minutes. 124 miles
BG to Hollidaysburg 12 min 7 miles

2014
CH to Chambersburg. 1 h 9 min   50/miles
BG to Chambersburg. 1 hour 55 min. 93 miles.

Interesting idea.   Neutral fields.

Will he and his stormtroopers do something stupid again this year? Maybe the local law enforcement #'s need beefed up for this game. More than usual. Hope the PIAA and WPIAL have some high-ranking admin.'s on hand as well, and take off their rose-colored glasses.
It ain't over until it's over.

I can think back over the years and chuckle. This perhaps is just payback. I can remember Tyrone being sent into mud pits to play a state game at Sharon, Wilmington, and Farrell High schools. Its not ideal but the thing about field conditions is, its the same for both teams.

This is the problem with having districts 'host' the state playoff games. The state should handle it and the games should be at neutral, relatively equidistant locations that have both the capacity and capability to host playoff games (press box, good scoreboard, parking, etc).

Just like I love District 8 'hosting' a neutral site game at the same stadium all six of their teams play their home games at.
