State Playoffs

Thank you for the over-analyzation. Berlin Facebook posts to inform the parents and fans. Not to message Clairton. Thanks againCoffinCorner wrote:Clairton Bears Football shared Berlin Mountaineers Football's post.

Game is on grass this week. I thought it had to be played on turf. No big deal...so long as the field doesn't become magically wet and muddy the day of the game...

PIAA State Quarterfinal game with Clairton will be played this Friday at 7 PM at Conemaugh Twp. High School. We were pushing for Richland or Johnstown to play on the turf since Somerset can't host the game but District 5 said they wanted to keep it at a District 5 school. Hopefully it doesn't rain all week
Please tell me that Berlin school district did not inform Clariton of game location by Facebook message. You know Wayne Wade is just going to use game location to fire up his troops

Will he and his stormtroopers do something stupid again this year? Maybe the local law enforcement #'s need beefed up for this game. More than usual. Hope the PIAA and WPIAL have some high-ranking admin.'s on hand as well, and take off their rose-colored glasses.

Re: State Playoffs
I can think back over the years and chuckle. This perhaps is just payback. I can remember Tyrone being sent into mud pits to play a state game at Sharon, Wilmington, and Farrell High schools. Its not ideal but the thing about field conditions is, its the same for both teams.Manfred wrote:I'd like to know why Conemaugh Twp.? No other better venue available at this point of the season? A Joke.

Re: State Playoffs
This is the problem with having districts 'host' the state playoff games. The state should handle it and the games should be at neutral, relatively equidistant locations that have both the capacity and capability to host playoff games (press box, good scoreboard, parking, etc).
Just like I love District 8 'hosting' a neutral site game at the same stadium all six of their teams play their home games at.
