I wonder if Everett would've lopped Manfred off at the knees, if Manfred had mentioned that a little 45 pound kid from Everett wrestled his heart out and beat an older kid in his weight class? Nah,...I think then it would've been okay to share refreshing news of elementary kids, on a High School forum.
Well, it is obvious you have a kid on this star-studded elementary team, so of course you would take offense to my comment.  And no, I would not have posted about the efforts of a 45lb 1st grader----because he is just that---a 45lb 1st grader.
I wonder if another school posted about their elementary success stories, if they would not have taken a beating (probably from some of you that commented on here).

Manfred wrote:You mentioned an "elementary" section of the Forum.  As I stated, I don't follow the kids at this age grouping, so I don't happen to know where this particular section was.  It was WRESTLING, so I posted it in the WRESTLING section.  I'm guilty.  Crucify me.  Oh wait, you already did.  There is a biblical phrase about "don't be concerned about the speck in another's eye before you remove the beam from your own."  BTW, who appointed YOU the Forum Sheriff?  If you actually had a problem with what I posted, there is an appropriate way to report it to the Forum mods or administrators.
I would worry more about your high schools 2-6 record instead of singing the praises of 1st and 2nd grade kids.  This is beyond laughable that we going back-and-forth about an elementary tournament team.  For how much you like to think you know, I thought you would understand that there is a lot that can happen between now and high school.  I would stand to bet that half those kids don't even wrestle in high school by the time they get there.  Expectations, burn out, other interests, girls, etc will make the grind of wrestling less appealing when you are 17 and 18 years old.

1. Yes it is an elementary tournament.

2. Manfred clearly stated that with the title of the topic.

3. 6th graders aren't 1st or 2nd graders.

4. Younger kids matter in wrestling probably more than any other sport. Do you see the number of freshmen/sophomores that make it to states?

5. The guy made an observation and shared it.

6. Chill.  There hasn't been much to read about in terms of varsity wrestling on here. At least there was something to read. Watching from afar until now, this has been the best thread of the week.

Thanks to those who "had my back". Shame on the ONE douche bag who finds it necessary to put down little athletes. I think he was one who was denied access to a elementary youth club wrestling program, and now feels left outside looking in. Or was cut from a squad. If, if I was not so privileged as to be able to participate in these kinds of sports, I would not take it upon myself to belittle those who do participate, or the MANY who -DO- support them. Again, you could have chosen to ignore the OP, but YOU didn't. Do you feel bigger, or better, about yourself for having done so? You must be a piece of work to live with.

You just can't let it go can you?  I helped run Elementary at one time, but didn't feel the need to post my elementary results on a high school forum, and make the comment 'you better watch out in the future'.  Believe me, a couple guys (1 of which was from FH) might have 'had your back', but there are several dozen that are thinking the same exact thing I posted--but are too nice to put it in writing.  And don't get it twisted, this wasn't about belittling your little athletes--this was about you bragging up a bunch of 1st thru 6th grade kids.  Believe me, if this was any other school that posted this, they would have been run off the forum (I've seen it on the football forum).
I'm a baseball fan too, so please let me know the status of your T-ball League, and what I can expect to see come up through the FH program in 10 years.

Did Peyton just willingly become involved in the fight?
