Colin Smith is a joke , when he plays real competition he is useless for example pm last year and Blairsville 2 years ago LV didn't even score ... Stop hyping the kid up

Collin Smith has scholarship offers from Michigan, Louisville, West Virginia, and Connecticut.
Maybe he's overhyped, or maybe guys like Jim Harbaugh know more than all of us on this website.

Congrats to the kid and I love nothing more than seeing local kids get noticed/offers. At the same time u would think he would stand out in person and the 3 times I've watched them play I did not see a D1 player on the field. Camp results > on field results in some eyes these days.

1. Ligonier Valley - Alot of talent returning, best player in the heritage conferene in Smith and great linebacker in Parrish
2. Homer Center - Great coaching staff, good players returning. No All stars but good all around talent
3. Penns Manor - Don't count this team out. Great coaches and a quarterback, Adam Dumm, who helped lead the Comets to the playoffs 2 years ago
4. Purchase Line - Outstanding Qb in Campbell and a good back in Syster. What I am told is Hunter RIce is not playing again this year due to concussions
5. West Shamokin - Have to be honest I dont know much about them.
6. Blairsville - Will have a pretty good team with the Shirley boys and Jerry Moore. Coach Artley will have them throwing the ball all over the field
7. United - Took a step forward this past year with Kevin Marabito at the helm
8. Saltsburg - I always think this team has had talent, but somehow seem to fall apart. By the way, who is the head coach?
9. Marion Center - Not sure what to say about this team. They are just in that period where they dont have alot of athletes
Smith might not only be the best in the Heritage but arguably the best player in the District
If you don't include BG I would agree...

In my opinion Collin Smith is a good football player, not great!. He disappears in the big games. I dont think he has ever finished a game against Penns Manor. Two years ago he was non existent against Blairsville. Not sure how he is getting these offers. Must be attending alot of summer camps. Chadburn is by far the best athlete in the district. Again in my opinion, Danny Ferens was better. I think the older Chadburn of 2 years ago and McCloskey were better.
However I hope the best for him and hope that he does get a DI scholarship somewhere. Best of Luck to him

Seems like every high school football athlete should attend camps and earn a 350K scholarship! We should be happy for this kid. Not only is he bringing exposure to his fellow teammates (as well as league, district, state) but also teams that compete against Ligonier. I seen his highlight tape and it has 4k views. He has full scholarship offers from Michigan, WVU, Louisville, Boston College, UCONN, and Buffalo. I am sure that there will be more to come...

Well last year and two years ago he was only a sophmore and junior. Let's see how his senior season goes. Colleges don't just throw out offers for the heck of it. He flies to the football and thoroughly enjoys using the hit stick. Kid's got a cannon too.
You compare him to Chadburn and McCloskey, but they played on the University of Southern Altoona's all-star team. It helps when you have a full cast around you.
I hope the kid can stay injury free, because Ligonier should be in for a special season. Best of luck to him. Haters gonna hate

Didn't see anyone "hating". Seems to me all the comments said they were happy for the kid. I just stated that he didn't stand out the 3 times I seen him play and I saw several other players that I thought were better high school football players over the course of last season. By all means I hope he gets 20+ offers and goes on to have a great career.

Oh boy. ChrisKent with this April fools day joke! West Shamokin, LV, Norther, then Homer, PL and the rest....
ChrisKentRam wrote:Ligonier Valley. Then a big drop to some solid, but not great teams.
I would say Northern, West Shamokin, PL, and Homer could finish in any order. United could move up a little bit, but I still don't think they finish any better record wise than they did last year. Blairsville, MC, and Saltsburg could finish in any order (8-10) in the cellar.
Ligonier will run away with the conference, but it will be a lot of fun to see how all the other teams stack up with one another with so many unknowns.
If I had to rank them I would go with:
1. Ligonier Valley
2. Northern Cambria
3. Penns Manor
4. West Shamokin
5. Purchase Line
6. Homer Center
7. United
8. Blairsville
9. Marion Center
10. Saltsburg

April Fools Day in mid April. Good joke. Almost as good of a joke as your rankings. Ligonier will run away with the district. Wining the conference will be as easy as winning an argument with Konjo.
