I went to the McCort & FH scrimmage, McCort looked good, FH looked down this year. FH looks like they have problems along the line, FH qb didn't have much time to pass the ball. McCort's O looked very good able to move the ball without any problems, but McCort's D did have problems holding down end runs, FH qb could get outside around McCort's ends but a quick whistle call a lot of plays dead, which could have been long runs. This could be problem when they play BG, Westmont, Somerset and Johnstown. I have question why is Jones playing running back, last year one of their best lineman, something wrong with Walters? Second question Cook didn't play any D, is he only playing one way?

Central is the real deal. Saw some good things from Bellwood. Good news is, we won't see anyone on our schedule near the caliber of Central. They weren't State semifinalist for nothing and will go far this year as well.

I was told McCort outplayed Foreat Hills pretty handily. Still early in the season. I wouldn't think McCort could beat them in a real game.

From what I saw the Crushers would be a 2 TD Favorite if they met in the regular season.

Portage @ T. Mountain
Portage controlled the scrimmage on both sides of the ball. After both teams scoring on their first set of offensive series. With some fine tuning both teams should have competitive seasons.

Also saw BM FH game, funny that no one mentioned BM running corner blitzes, and throwing the whole kitchen sink at FH, maybe Basile thought he got points for a win as he was going all out to win this game. Bailey has been around long enough to know scrimmages don't matter, how much did he really show?. Outside of Cecere, all new skill players and 3 new lineman so there will be some adjustments, they will look alot different next weekend,.
I could see McCort vs Ligoneer for the District title, BM looks much better than last two years.

223113...Ridge had about 15 yards in first 10 plays against Ligonier...then two 3 and outs against Ligonier when they went sticks...Ligonier was the only team to score during the varsity match ups...like I stated earlier, Ligonier scored twice against each team and neither team moved the ball on them...they looked tough...and I over heard some parents talking that All State linebacker Elijah Parrish didn't participate in the scrimmage...

Thx DCor50. After reading the Trib-Dem previews this morning, I gotta believe this may be LV's year for a shot at a D6 title. Returning 19 of 22 Starters from a 9-3 team, they ought to be tough.
Did anyone see the CH-Westy scrimmage?
