6headbassit, atleast have a clue before you say they "recruited" those 2 kids. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Shaffer(the 135 lber you talk of) went to CC until he was in 8th grade and moved with his family to Michigan, and said before he left that he would be back to graduate at CC. I'm sure Strittmatter isn't going up to matches in Michigan to recruit kids to come to CC, who hasn't won a D-6 title in how long? Also, Fowler(the 152 who BEAT Moss this year) is from Chicago, Illinois. The kid moved here with his father after winning a state title with his team in Illinois last year. If you seriously think that he went to Illinois to recruit a kid, you are dumber than you make yourself out to be. And again, don't you think he would have went 20 miles up the road to Tyrone if it was really about wrestling? He didn't even know if they would let him join the team when he moved here.
So please think before you post, or you look stupid.

I heard that Mr. Strittmatter met the Fowler's while conducting a clinic in the midwest. Is this true?

i have no way of proving the recruiting process, nor does anyone else, but it does seem very coincidental that two quality out of state wrestlers just showed up to a small school like central cambria at the same time strittmatter did. was it coincidence that matt benton relocated to claysburg after the fricks were gone......speculation is dangerous, but you cant ignore it.

Ignorance can be dangerous as well packerfan. Benton was enrolled at Claysburg BEFORE Erick Frick transfered to Hollidaysburg. Also, what you probably didn't know is that the reason that Benton moved into Claysburg was to attend to a sick grandparent, and was prepared to not wrestle his senior year if that's what it meant. Curiousity is fine, but don't compare these two circumstances.

I knew Brett before he moved and he said that before he left in 8th grade that he would be back to graduate at CC. I doubt that the kid had psychic abilities and knew Strittmatter would be coaching there. Try again.

Let Matt rest in peace for Goodness sake. You need to let Matt's business be his families business. You can only speculate but please....this is not necesary.

I personally have never questioned the addition of these two wrestlers and applaud Central Cambria on the great season they had. Furthermore, I do not feel horrible about finishing second in the District tournament Saturday. We came from 14 points down in the final round to finish a half point behind the Red Devils. I am very proud of how we wrestled. What I am not proud of, however, is the way that John Strittmatter acted. Perhaps he never learned how to lose.

stalling during rideout? its the point to just keep the other man down not to pin ur opponent if ur team needs the pin then go for it other wise theres almost no point in trying to score
no way

the sport of wrestling is like no other. if you go into a match planning defensively you will lose. overtime or not. wrestling is about speed and technique. in double overtime if you are only trying to hold the other man down you will usually fail. it is very hard to plan your match on what the other man might or might not do, because you don't know what he is going to do. wrestling is about being aggressive and attacking and not quitting. wrestling is not about taking injury timeouts because you didn't work as hard as your opponent. this was the only time in which i booed art moss. i believe this rule of taking injury timeouts when you are tired is a gliche in the system and yes its the same for everyone and art was perfectly on the right side of the rule book when he did take it but, the rule needs to be reexamined because it is taking away from the sport of wrestling. I am a friend of art and would like to congratulate him on his great performance down at hershey along with all the other rangers.
