It really is pretty simple to determine if you can field a team next year.  Take your existing team and subtract the graduating seniors.  Add in the eighth graders from the junior high team.  This gives you a pretty good idea of the maximum number of kids you can count on for next season.  Two or three may quit, move, transfer, etc. but you can probably count on two or three joining the team for the first time.

Maybe at a public school, but with escalating tuition, and the program getting worse,
Now throw in public school recruiting of any decent talent,. " Why get blown out , come here and compete for a title "
Like Geno Laurer, 6'6 300.   Might have helped his district team be better, who can pass on lineman of that size, and if he was your kid and wanted to play on the next level,

BC has basketball to contend with and the kids not going out for football or not allowed to, they have soccer that takes a few kids away. Now add that in with getting the crap kicked out of you and its hard to convince kids to come out. The prior coach went to the elementry schools to get kids to keeo playing at the 7th 8th grade level and they had almost 30 on the 7th and 8th grade team 2 years ago, down to 20 this year. Coffin watch film on the kid you had mentioned and youll understand that he could not play at the next level, let alone start for most teams around here. As for the school they need to decide if they want to keep the program going and if they do then then need to invest in it. The previous coach had wanted out of the LHAC and was told from some Heritage people that they would have accepted them in with West Shamokin. The admistration decided otherwise. Plus im sure other things they were unwilling to do. The admistraion was aware of the problems and just ignored them and now they are where they are because of it.

I dont have a coach, and as for the other kid you mentioned maybe he would have helped YOUR devils get a few more yards a game, but no more wins.

Most of the schools BC draws from haven't been very good lately either so I doubt many will be "heading home".

I highly doubt you'll receive any sympathy from anyone on this site that times are rough for BC. Go back in time and think about all the schools like Blacklick Valley who lost most of their best players over the years to BC.
To say you contend with soccer and basketball is no different than any other school in the state.
Im not sure im buying the Heritage wanted them back, you still have way too many of the old guard in school boards and administrative roles from the old Appalachian Conference that would have to go back on their word.
They were negotiating with West Shamokin and Leechburg
