This is where the folks who do the talking all year need to pay attention. They are all tough,or they wouldn't be there. Here and next weekend is where the wrestlers themselves, not us "armchair coaches" prove themselves as elite. That is a word that has been thrown around way too much in the past few months. Those of you who have been using that word, pay attention Thursday and Friday.

Well put Eaglealum......... Well put!!! Every weight class is going to be tough!!! Everyone has an opinion on which weight is the loaded one! That is all that they are..... OPINIONS! Although everyone is entitled to their own, attempts to catagorize other weight classes as "weak" just doesn't hold water! Every single wrestler at Regionals has earned the right to be there. They have also earned, or rather they should have earned, the right to not be criticized or refered to as being in a "weak" weight class. Every year there will be a new group of wrestlers coming through having been through their own "battles" and triumphs. To catagorize them as being weaker is lame! Everyone wants to hang credit on "rankings" as well. These too are merely more than opinions! Putting predictions in writing, although amusing, will not dictate the results. The wrestlers will do this all by themselves. The wrestlers that unfortunately don't make it past this weeks coming matches should be applauded for their dedication and hard work and not bashed because they don't perform up to ANY spectators expectations. 182 wrestlers will participate tomorrow and Friday and I personally have a very high level of respect and admiration for each and every one of them! Good luck to all participants! Leave it ALL on the mat...... This is what you have been bustin' your tails for since this time last year!

Hear, hear! My attitude has always been the first step of courage in wrestling is the step onto the mat. Now, from that point on, one must learn the moves and strategy, etc. But, it takes guts to step out there, especially at the varsity level where "everyone" IS watching you, as opposed to those chaotic weekends of elementary tournaments.

There are a lot of kids who won't be at Regionals who wish they could be.......so the ones that are there should be proud of themselves!

Okay - enough "mommy rant" - gotta get some sleep for tomorrow!
Dawn (home early from night shift so I'm not unbearable at Regionals)
