I'm guessing this would be more of an issue if it was a private school doing the scoring. I am not getting into a public private debate. I am always on the public side of it. However, as I look at it objectively, I think there would be more people in an uproar if it was McCort, Carroll, or BG putting 100 up on someone. Personally, I don't have a problem with it either way.

I agree!  I'm sure there have been many of those aforementioned teams that have beat up on lesser opponents beyond what is "sportsmanlike".  I think of the early 2000 Bishop Carroll girls team that didnt take any mercy or the BG girls of recent that have been accused of running up scores versus teams that really didn't want to be on the floor with BG in the first place because they were outmatched.  In either of these cases, was it bad sportsmanship or just a stronger opponent versus a lesser?

I believe it matters in which way the 100 point threshold was met. If the team was relentlessly pressing the entire first half and into the second, I believe there is a problem. If they dropped the press after the first quarter (36-6), I have no issue with the 100 points. Your starters deserve to play more than half the game. As a coach, you should never tell your players to stop playing fundamental basketball. If the JV players went in and continued to score, so be it.

After scanning through the Altoona Mirror reports I see where Bellwood has 13 girls listed on their roster.
Five of these girls are freshmen with 1 as a starter.
Looking at the box score Swogger had 24.    The team made 15 from the 3 point area.  The second 1/2 scoring by
Bellwood was 19 & 7.   The paper also stated Bellwood had 25 assists.   The team records after this game was
Mt Union 3-7, Bellwood 9-2.    Whether there was a press early in the game I cannot answer that.

As previously stated there was no JV game.    A junior high game was played prior to the varsity game with
Mt Union winning.   I heard that Bellwood plays only 7th and 8th grade girls on their Junior High squad.
I cannot confirm that though.
