im pretty the big east is in the top 3 of conferences ham. big east is gonna get 6 teams in. uconn, pitt, seton hall, syracuse, providence, and boston college are in w/o much doubt and notre dame is on the bubble. acc has 6 teams in for sure and 2 teams on the bubble the way i see it.
pitt did win it outright. they have been pretty consistant all year. if a good team makes pitt hit jump shots, i think they are in trouble.
uconn has had some bright spots and some down times over the year. today, w/o okafor, was a bad game for the huskies. the fact that they lost is not as big as his injury. w/ him 100%, they have a good shot to win it all. if he isnt 100%, ben gordon is gonna have to put on some kinda show over the next couple weeks for them to make the final four.

Sorry i underestimated the RPI of the Big East but all that jazz doesnt matter. Im still sticking with my guns and saying that Pitt will not make it to the sweet 16.
How bout and all ACC final four????

im not gonna argue w/ u about pitt ham. im no fan of the panthers. the only time i would ever think about rooting for pitt is if they played duke :cheesy:
although the acc has 4 teams that could reasonably make the final 4, i find it very unlikely that it will happen. i am thinkin that there will be 1 acc, 1 big east, 1 sec, and 1 conference usa team in the final four. this is w/o knowing the bracket so it is really not based on anything except pure guesswork.

The entire ACC has an outstanding shot at making it an all ACC Final Four. Take a look at some of these numbers.
ACC is the top ranked conference in the RPI Report and the Sagarian Computer Poll. All 9 ACC teams ranked in the top 85 of the RPI including 5 in the top 17 and 7 in the top 50. ACC teams consist of 25% of the top 25 polls in both national polls. The ACC has played the toughest in-conference schedule and the second toughest out of conference schedule all the while going 91-16 against non conference foes. 30-15 against the other nine conferences ranked in the top 10 of the RPI.
If thats not a resume for an all ACC Final Four i dont kno what is. Sure they have to show up and play extremely well in order to do so but its not an unimaginable thing to have occur.
On a side note i was just looking at the ACC tourney bracket and Duke and UNC could meet up again in less than a week. When Duke beats the winner of the Clemson Virginia game, and if #5 UNC beats #4 GT that would set up a semi final matchup between the two bitter rivals.

Ham forget about the all ACC Final Four. It'll never happen. But keep dreaming. The chances of that happening slimmer than Pitt getting knocked out before the Sweet 16.

Hahaha....Ham you're crazy. If that stuff happens, i'd have to say you are the smartest man in the world. But it's not going to and you're going to look dumb.

i am agreeing with Ham here Pitt will not make it out of the first weekend. And about the ACC put the 7th place team in most other conferences and they would be first or second. Heck put Clemson in the A-10 and they would be second or third and they are last in the ACC right now.

Wow, I can't believe people think Pitt won't make it out of the first weekend. I know they haven't been playing that well lately. But they've been winning and the games that they've lost were by a total of 7 points. To me it seems like they have a good shot of being national champions. But I'll give it a couple weeks and then do my bragging after they easily advance to the sweet 16.

According to Bracketology on ESPN they have Pitt playing Vermont then prob Southern Illinois, but if they do get out of the first weekend they will lose to Georgia Tech in the Sweet Sixteen. These brackets arent final but Maryland is a 7th seed and could easily knock off Pitt.
