Somerset has no buisness being in the playoffs.
Central Cambria should not be in the playoffs
McCarroll should not be in the playoffs
CC will be 5-5 if they win tomorrow

Anyways…if we combine all conferences and make new ones based on classification only then sure, winning record. But as long as some teams have an easier path than others, the points system is the best we have

If you’re 5-5 it should be basketball season. At least two weeks should be cut from football season. You do that by limiting playoff teams.

A 5-5 Forest Hills team was district runner up

A few years ago a 12-10 basketball team won a state championship. Limiting playoff berths punishes teams with tougher schedules

That’s fine. If you want to make the playoffs you should win more regular season games.

Wasn't there a year in which the State A Champion in football had a losing record in the regular season?
I don't have time or resources to look it up, but I vaguely remember this happening at least once because the school played in a powerhouse conference and then walked through the State playoffs with ease.

Maybe I am completely wrong about this also, but if certainly could happen, especially at the A level.

You might be right, I seem to remember someone like a St. Pius XII winning with a losing record, as they were a single A playing in a multi-A Philly city league.

It should always go by strength of schedule.

Since you took the time, we'll just have to accept you might be right. This time.
