it would be great if they would get kip wells some run support. he gives up two runs and still hardly wins. those offensive explosions like last night cant be depended on.

i think the pirates will be around .500 at the all-star break but then they will trade Wells and Kendall and some others and be horrible. I predict they will be around 42-47 at the break then go around 15-58 after it.

what many ppl dont remember about last year is that the bucs played better in the last 2 months of the season than any other time of the year.
i dont see them trading wells but surely some other guys will be gone. by the end of the year, i think the rotation will be wells, perez, vogelsong, burnett, and van benschoten. i think benson and fogg will be traded. as far as position players, simon, mondesi, kendall, and even jack wilson could be traded by july in my eyes. the bucs' best hope for getting a good player in a trade would be a trade involving benson. i think he is gonna have a strong first half and make some team looking for pitching, texas, sf, atlanta, give away a good major league player/prospect. a trade involving kendall or mondesi could also give the bucs a decent player in return.
first half prediction sounds about right, but dont sell the younger guys short. i think they could definately finish w/ 75 wins this season.

i think with benson back to form, wells doing pretty good, and the early offensive showing from jack and craig wilson.....they could pull .500. thats if they dont kill the roster with trades again. they looked pretty good against the mets......for what its worth.

The Pirates are actually winning games, which is different.. They just swept the Mets yesterday, I think that they are missing a player, well they are in need of many other good players, but for some reason I think that if they aquire someone new they willwin games, and if Mesa keeps pitching like he is they will win games.....and they are, so if they do everything that their doing and do it the rest of the season, they will win games......maybe they'll be the Anaheim Angels of '04? I think not....

Olver Perez is doing well for a pirate pitcher. he has a complete game and he is 2-0 with an ERA below 1.80
