Penn St. HAD a legacy, doesn't mean they have or will have another one!!The teams right now that I think that have a legacy are Miami, Ohio St., Michigan, Florida, Florida St., Oklahoma, U.S.C, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Pitt, and Alabama in the past with all the National Championships.

Coach & Packerfan - you guys should try herding cats. It would be easier than trying to convince these WVU fans to look at facts. You guys are right, PSU is a legend and has earned that. I like to see WVU successful as well, but there is NO comparison between the 2 programs. NONE. Yes, PSU has had some off years, but that's football. They'll bounce back. If I had to bet my life as to which one of the 2 programs would win a national title in the next 10 years, my bet is on PSU.

Florida has had some "down" years.

FSU roughed up a formally weak ACC for years.

Oklahoma was down most of the 90's.

I showed you 3 out of the past 5 years where USC was under .500.

Nebraska has been "down" the last couple of years.

Notre Dame has been "down" the last few years except 1.

Pitt was HORRIBLE most of the time that I was growing up. 90's was terrible.

Alabama has been "down" the last few years.

National Championships....PSU has 2....3 other times they went undefeated and weren't crowned (once with maybe the best Offense of all time). If PSU isn't on the level of your other LEGACY squads...then you are just being stubborn.

Hollywood, actually last time they were on top was 1999, they were ranked #1 in the nation that year.

PSU was actually the 4th most winningest team during the 90's, so I'd say their tradition is pretty recent. They were ahead of teams like Michigan and OSU in the 90s.

hold on hollywood, ill save you the trouble of your next post. penn state lost a relatively close game to nebraska last year, and umm.......BRING ON THE LITTLE LIONS. there, you have time to post something else pitiful and irrelevant.

Guys, don't get nearsited or you are just as blinded by loyalty.

Nebraska has been down the last few years, BUT....
They were champs in 94,95,97 Those are all recent. They also have several others.

Some people on this board are a waster of our time. They have no idea what they are talking about, and think they are football gods. A team with 2-3 bad years is going to rebound, no matter what you morons think.

NFL- Buccanners um pretty sure they were horrible for many years then won a super bowl, along with the rams
MLB- Florida Marlins- sucked big time then went on to win 2 world championships in 7 years
NBA- Spurs weren't the best team in the 90's but won 2 championships.

and as the genious Coach added with all them stats, you can't argue stats. You guys are too thick to realize that Penn State is going to attend a major bowl this year, and 2 or 3 years of bad luck is easily solved with a good recruiting class which Penn State definetly got this year!

So shut your mouths and don't argue with admin. with a topic you will never win

Coach I really feel for you, I do but your parallels are all wrong. USC most recently and Oklahoma earlier revived storied programs for one reason, they got a new HEAD COACH! Stoops embraced the past at OU and had a new vision, new energy, and it worked! Pete Carroll is doing the same thing at USC! In the 90's Steve Spurrier did it at Florida after that program became stale under Galen Hall (PSU's new offensive coordinator).

I feel confident in saying that PSU will not become dominant again until there is a new vision and philosophy in place. Hiring someone almost as old as JoePa to run the offense will not improve things. These guys should be driving golf carts around the trailer park in Florida not coaching D1 football!

The Bucs too won with a new coach and a new attitude!
