Over on the LHS forum there is a young lady that insists that hitting a fast pitched softball is the "hardest thing to do in all of sports". Her screen name is flash1. Her Daddy told her it was the toughest, so that must make it so. NOT!

gymnastics does take some strength, especially the rings, thats some tought stuff to be able to hold your arms out from your body and support yourself, i give them credit, but i still dont think it rivals wrestling or football in the rest of the categories

Will booze at least 2 times a week and pretend they are still dedicated. Not afraid to live the dream untill they are 35 then realize they never made it anywhere. Ladies Love us. Guys want to be us. i find it interesting how alot of pro atheletes take ballet to make themselves better...that just goes to show how every sport has its own aspects of greatness

if anyone looked at the rankings im surprised by some of the scores in some areas, such as in wrestling they gave it a 5.00 on nerves, and a 6.63 in endurance while basketball got a 7.38 in endurance. alpine skiing got a 7.38 in speed, i dont think alot of alpine skiers are very fast runners, on skiis ya they have to be fast, but they arent doing much work to get fast.

i think alpine skiing requires alot of speed...u gotta be able to push off w/ ur feet to build up ur speed and increase ur acceleration, and unless uve really tried doing that, then u have no idea how hard it really is

I think the poiint is this. If you are going to excel at whatever sport it is going to take a lot of physical investment and pain. SO how do you evaluate and compare fairly?

On The White Shadow comment about hitting a fast pitch softball, I'll have to say that hittinf a baseball & softball is one of the hardest things in sports. As my high school coach and many other people I have heard saying "it's very hard to hit a round ball with a round bat".......

That's what I always heard, that hitting a Major League velocity baseball is probably the single most difficult thing to do in sports. What about pole vaulting? Where'd that rank?
