You keep telling yourself that..Maybe it will come true, it worked for Dorothy in the wizard of oz...but she had fancy red shoes. Our defense did not get ripped to shreds. We only allowed 62 yds to lewis..a premire back in the nfl..granted he had 2 tds but they were what 2 yd runs. AND only 98yds passing. Ben came in late 3rd qtr. and threw for more then that. Granted Taylor ran for like 76 or so..but he didnt score. So its not like our D did a poor job. One td was an interception return..obviously the D didnt have anything to do with that play. Another Td was a one yard run. You know there going to score. At the one yard line, with 4 downs. Almost all their scoring drives came from very good field position. Minus the first drive, which was like 90yds. Ohh, by the way. who got beat my the bears?

All of you black and gold supporters out there need to wake up and realize this Steeler team is going nowhere. A great season for them this year would be 8-8... more likely 7-9 though. I love to see the dissapointment and anger on everyones faces once they realize the Steelers are a bunch of bums and aren't gonna come close to the playoffs. All you people asking for Big Ben at the beginning of the year now have him, and now get to watch him struggle like any other rookie would.... oh well.. maybe next year, or the next, or the next, or the next......

No, I am well aware of whats going on in Pittsburgh right now. In one of my earlier post this month about the steelers I said almost exactly what you said that a .500 season would be good for them. This is exactly what I wanted to happen, have Maddox hurt, let Roethlisberger get a season under his belt.

well it sucks what happend to tommy maddox this week but this gives big ben a chance to show people what he has. Now if we can get Plaxico to learn how to catch a ball they might not be so bad

The Cravens defense got ripped apart for more yards than the Steelers did. Tommy Maddox did suck on Sunday til he (unfortunately) hurt his elbow, and Ben Roethlisberger was a fine backup for a rookie. Two tds and two picks is pretty decent (though the one being returned for a td, oops) and a 60 percent completion rate is better than many QBs in the league. And it isn't easy to do that when the defense is blitzing you dang near every down. I think Ben will do alright for a rookie, and pull some games out for them, though it certainly will take the Steelers almost out of playoff contention by the time Tommy gets back. But overall, it's a good thing, and it will get them ready for the future. It might be better for right now even, since all Tommy Gunn did against Oakland was throw for 150 yards about. So we'll see.
