there's no question barry has done more for baseball, but that was over a whole career, the 73 homeruns in a season is impressive, i just see ichiro's accomplishments a little more impressive

In my opinion the hitting record is better cuz maybe someone can't hit homeruns but they can hit really well they should still get recognized for those hits that didnt' quite make it over the fence!

The homerun record is better because anyone can hit a dinker over SS, but not just anyone can hit a dinker over the left field wall. It takes skill AND power!!

Does one have to be better? This is like asking who is more attractive Brooke Burke or Jessica Simpson. Its all about opinion. Each requires a different set of skills.
