Yes, Windber lost to Ferndale but they did not drop in the standings. A Windber loss and a Rockwood win in the coming week would drop Windber to fourth. They win the head-to-head tiebreaker with CT and NS so that is as low as they can be seeded.

Once again...D5 is on its own! We are not part of the D6 playoffs anymore.

the way I understand it going into the last week:

1. Berlin - first place is locked in, will play winner of 4th v. 5th seed game at home in the second round
2. Northern Bedford - guaranteed second seed with win and a second round game with the 3rd v. 6th seed winner. NB drops to third seed if they lose and either Windber or Rockwood wins. If both Windber and Rockwood win and NB losses NB would drop to fourth
3. Windber - A Windber loss and rockwood win would drop Ramblers to fourth seed. A Rambler win and loss by NB would move Windber to the second seed.
4. Rockwood - A Rockwood win and a loss by both NB and Windber would catapult the Rockets into the second seed and a first round bye. The worst the Rockets can finish is fifth. A NS win and Rocket loss would drop Rockets to fifth.
5. North Star - A loss to CT puts those two teams in a tie for fifth. A NS win and a loss by Windber puts them in a tie with the Ramblers.
6. Conemaugh Twp. - a win and they finish in a tie with NS for fifth. A loss and they finish sixth.
The easiest thing to do in sports is hustle.
Berlin is gonna be a really good team in the playoffs until sum1 figures out how to shut their back down.
 Township shut their back down. Total for the game 59 yards. The game should have been much closer but twp. couldn't get the ball in...

Here is how I see things panning out...

1. Berlin (They easily move to 9-0 over CV)
2. NBC (They win at West Branch)
3. Rockwood (They beat Bishop Walsh, Md.)
4. Windber (They lose to Portage)
5. CT (They beat NS)
6. NS (They lose to CT)

Would this be wild or what?

Berlin would get the tougher draw in the semi's playing Windber or CT! NBC would get the Rockwood/NS winner.

The unknown is Bishop Walsh...how bad are they? Are they similar to their 7th/8th grade teams in terms of what they can do football wise? How bad is Rockwood? These teams don't play the teams around here so it is tough to guage. They are playing teams that are not very good at football at all. If Rockwood loses, flip flop them and Windber. Right now Rockwood is 4-3 and BW is 4-5. They have several common opponents.

Turkeyfoot:
Rockwood 40-18
BW 37-6

Westmar:
Rockwood 35-8
BW 45-0

Fairfield:
Rockwood 26-16
BW 27-7

Northern Garrett:
Rockwood 8-36
BW 10-57

They have won against similar opponents and both lost to NG. The game is at Rockwood, so I'll take them as my winner.

I know Windber has Portage's number, but I see them losing this time around with their injury situation.

The scenario could very well pit Windber at Berlin in the D5 semis. *If NBC wins, Rockwood wins, and Windber loses.

I tend to agree with you, coach, except I think that BW is a touchdown better than Rockwood. It will be very tough for Windber to beat Portage this year, but if they do it would be a rare upset. Windber is 29-7-1 all-time against the Mustangs. North Star is playing better football lately, but I'll still go with CT, having seen both teams play. Berlin is the favorite, but both Windber and CT hung tough with them, Windber losing by an extra point and Ct doing the best job thus far of containing D'Con. Even though this isn't the strongest of playoff fields, I like some of the matchups.

ok, i have a few questions/comments ....
first is yeah twp shut d'con down, but they let other backs like rex from ferndale(over 200 yrds) rush all over them....

Why is everyone counting Twp over NS ... doesnt NS have a better record and has beaten teams twp lost to? i hear twp has a nice Defense, but their "O" is questionable, and infact doesnt have a real playmaker.... NS's "O" is doing better lately and the defense is also good at times, but sometimes the cougars let down... i think this could be a very close game, going either way ... dont count NS out, infact from what i know they may be the favorites...

Also.... What is the injury situation at Windber... i heard Kitcho is out for the season and Clark hasn't been playing.. anyone know the windber scenario? Is clark coming back or is he done too? please inform me if you know anything.
