Bin Laden Now Campaigning for Kerry
Re: Bin Laden Now Campaigning for Kerry
Just an observation: Goerge W. Bush is perhaps the most inarticulate man who's ever served in the oval office.
I'm a Democrat, but I'm not overly impressed with either candidate...I may leave the president slot blank, or write in Bill Clinton. Bill actually called me yesterday and asked me to vote for Kerry!
WT
I agree that President Bush is not very articulate. That doesn't make him less of a leader.
So does this mean your in the Hillary camp in '08? I hope not.

Re: Bin Laden Now Campaigning for Kerry
Reasearch on intelligence says that those who are less verbally articulate are less intelligent and make less competent leaders.
I can get you the citations, if you wish.
This has been perhaps one of the weakest presidencies of all time. Bush has done next to nothing original...The war on terror? Anyone would've done what Bush has done. Tax breaks? Overhwelming for the top 2% in income. Bin Laden? Had him in his sights then turned it over to the Afghans who promptly bungled his capture. Health care? Costs have MORE THAN DOUBLED in his 4 years. True, interest rates are still down and the economy is decent (not great)...But, that all began under William Jefferson Clinton.
Also, Bush wasn't an great favorite of the people...As a matter of fact he LOST THE POPULAR VOTE in 2000...
I'm a Democrat and quite frankly, I am not overly thrilled with Kerry either.
As I said, I may just leave it blank or write in Bill Clinton or Al Gore, who DID win the popular vote the last time out.

It is for that very reason that I am glad we have a Republic. I can't stand it that a few states could control so much of the country.

Re: Bin Laden Now Campaigning for Kerry
please...what is this about bin laden "regrouping" if kerry wins the election, little bush and family are good friends with the bin laden family, it doesnt matter how much of a "black sheep" they call osama, bush isnt doing a thing to catch him, instead hes running us into the hole on a lie of a war in iraq...where are those weapons of mass destruction, i think some of you great bush supporters should have to call dead soldiers families on the phone and explain to them what they died for...please call them and tell them they died searching for wmd's that dont exist, im sure that will go over nicely... anyone voting for george w. bush is blind and cannot see what has gone on in the last four years, this man has done nothing but make this country worse and give us a horrible name with other nations... why is it that you fine "religious" supporters of bush will vote for a man who was the first leader of the free world to go AGAINST the geneva convention and not allow the u.n. to monitor the treatment of the POWs we caputured from Iraq...look what happened my fine republicans... we treated them brutally, embarassed them and sexually assulted them, what kind of religion is that Mr. Bush? but will he apologize, of course not, our godly man is never wrong...I am a republican, and I will not vote for George W. Bush in two days

WT - you make good points, but let me hit on a few points you bring up.
1. Bush's intelligence has only been called into question by ordinary people. Even Kerry admits that Bush is very intelligent. Southpaw has even pointed out that his IQ is higher than Kerry's.
2. I don't agree that anyone would've done what Bush done. Maybe at first, but other Presidents have gotten cold feet at the first sign of American casualties and have cut out before the job was done.
3. Tax breaks. Let me give you an example. If you make $100 and I make $50, and you paid $40 in taxes and I paid $10, why is it unfair to give you back $10 and me $5? You earned more and paid more to begin with. The opportunity was there somewhere for me to make the same $100 you did, but I didn't take it. You're still paying a lot more than me. And most likely, you'll take that money you got back and reinvest it, whether it be in your small business or the stock market. Either way, there's a positive effect on the economy. This, IMO, is the weakest arguement Democrats make, because they want to penalize success and give handouts to those who didn't earn it. I'm not a Bill Gates fan, but you know what, he made is billions on his ideas and hard work. Why should he be penalized for that?
4. Bin Laden - No one will ever convince me that if we were that close to bin Laden we would've given up on him. And if you want to make that arguement, why didn't Willy get him when he had the chance before 9/11? The Soviets fought the Afgans for something like 12 years and couldn't find those they were after in those caves. We may have not captured bin Laden yet, but we've got a lot of them. And they're capacity to operate freely with state sponsership has been wiped out.
5. Health Care - Please ask a doctor why health care is so high. He/She will tell you that it's because of frivilous lawsuits and skyrocketing malpractice insurance. That's a fact. I wonder why trial lawyers are supporting a Kerry/Edwards ticket?
6. The current economy began under Clinton? WT - please look back to when this recession really started. It all began back in the summer of 2000 and by the time W took office, we were 3 months into a recession. Corporate scandals came to light and the stock market began to nose dive. Then 9/11, which shook the confidence in our economy. Only because of a strong response to terror, the tax breaks, and strong leadership has the economy started to rebound. When an economy is in a full scale recession like ours was, it does not come back overnight. It builds momentum, like it is currently doing.
7. The electoral college has worked for us for 200 years. It makes sure that every state has a say in who our President will be, not just the most populated areas like New York and Los Angeles. And every single independent recount of Florida a year after the election all came to the same conclusion - President Bush won Florida. That even came from liberal news sources like the New York Times. And obviously, with the 2000 race so close, Al Gore wasn't a big favorite of the people either.

Re: Bin Laden Now Campaigning for Kerry
NY Post this morning.......on Drudge.....
Bin laden warns the "red states" those that vote for Bush will be attacked by Al Qaeda. States that vote Kerry will be "considered at peace" with Al Qaeda. This more literal translation was done over the weekend. Probably won't get mainstream press because it would be fatal to John Kerry.
Also good old Walter "the war is now unwinnable" Cronkite in an interview with Larry King over the weekend said that the Bin Laden tape was leaked to the media by Karl Rove.
Its pretty clear who Al Qaeda wants in the WH.

I know that changes my vote since Kerry is a raunch word for a cat. That definitely means he wouldn't make a good president??????

Re: Bin Laden Now Campaigning for Kerry
I sure would vote for someone Bin Laden wants in the WH. This is real no brainer people.
If you want Bin laden and Al Qaeda defeated vote for Bush.
If you want to cave in and be gutless like the Spanish and
let the terrorists win vote for Kerry.

Haven't you guys made up your mind yet? Or are there some BC's that still haven't decided? I guess I can understand that. There's been so little said, written, photographed, filmed, etc etc etc about this election that you do need more information.
Keep plugging away, LP and Southpaw.
I'd hate to think even KR would "leak" that tape.
