Austin, if Rolle is the dirtiest player in the game, please list 3 specific examples of dirty plays. All i see when i look at him is the most complete defensive player in the country, and to disagree with that statement deserves that person getting belted in the head with a giant salmon.

Also, you said Berlin cant play unless in the shotgun.. Did you see any of Miami's games this year? Of course he's better out of the gun, but to say he cant play anywhere but in it is absolutly ridiculous. The canes have a more than exceptional backup, and if he was that terrible they would have played him (with it being both he and berlin's senior season).

As for Virginia being a good team, yes they are.. but Miami is a GREAT team. Their defense has been terrible the past 4 games, but you cannot disagree with the fact that they're the most talented team in the nation. Before Louisville, they scored more points on defense than they let up. Now yes, La Tech was a game in there, but so was Ga Tech and FLORIDA FREAKING STATE. FSU was a top 5 team until their slip against Maryland (where they missed like 3 field goals and lost by 3) and Miami defeated them.

Miami lost 2 in a row last year, and look what happend. Expect nothing less than a repeat

i dont disagree that miami is the most talented team in the nation. they have athletes down there who could make some pro teams bad. the fact is that a bunch of great individual athletes does not make a great team.

antrel rolle is one of the best corner backs in the country. he has all the physical skills needed to be a great cb. but... he is dirty like i said. watching the louisville game, i remember several times where he would take shots at a wide out which should have drawn a flag for illegal hands to the face but never did. the one specific example where rolle did get flagged was where he tore a louisville player down by his face mask then yelled down at him after he did it. that game left the impression on me that he is dirty.

brock berlin has been living off of his high school career for too long now. maybe terrible was a bit too strong of a word, but i would definately not rate him any higher than avg. w/ all the great athletes he has around him, he should have a easy job of just getting those guys the ball and letting them do the work. jason hester, rascoe parrish, santorious moss, that big te who is supposed to be the next winslow, and frank gore are all gamebreaker type players. he should have heisman numbers w/ all that help.

Brock Berlin has definitely led his team to comebacks this season. Is he under-achieving? Of course he is. But that doesn't mean he's living off his high school reputation. From what you're saying, anything less than 4 straight national championships for Berlin is simply not good enough. He must be pretty good, Austin, he's the starting QB on the best team in the country.

Actually, wouldn't the honor of being the starting QB on the best team in the nation go to Matt Leinert or Jason White? USC and Oklahoma are still undefeated. Miami is hardly the best team in the nation, it lost two games that it should have won. It's going to Virginia this weekend, and I'll be willing to make it three. Miami loses, and this is the game that gives them absolutely no chance at a BCS bid.

Fleaflicker, the Hurricanes are the NY Yankees of college football. There is so much talent on that team, there's no debate they're the best program in the country. That school should be renamed NFL-Coral Gables. Ther eis so much talent on that team that you can't deny Miami. They don't even need to win the national championship to prove they have the best players in the country. They'll probably lose to UVA too, but so what? They'll still have one of the best recruiting classes and have 25 guys get drafted. Players go to Miami because that coaching staff and system breed nothing but professional football players. Go Canes.

The Hurricanes may or may not be the most talented team in college football, but they certainly are not the best. Would you say that the Washington Redskins last year were the best team in the NFL? They had the most superstar players. I recall in 2000 or 2001 they got a lot of big name signings and finished at 8-8 I believe. That is hardly the best team in the NFL. The best team in the NFL or in NCAA football is the team that can beat anybody, anyplace, anytime. Miami cannot do that. USC might be able to, Oklahoma might be able to, Auburn might be able to. But the Miami Hurricanes cannot. Maybe they are the most TALENTED team in NCAA football, but they are far from the BEST. There is a huge difference. Talent is based upon individual players. Being the best is all about TEAMWORK. The team with the most talent may or may not work well enough together to be the best team. If the Hurricanes are the most talented team, then they aren't working well enough together to be the best. (BTW, I'm not showing any emotion, I'm just using all caps to emphasize the key differences.)

If i were a coach i'd much rather play USC, Oklahoma, or Auburn than Miami. To say they cant "win any time any where any place" is absurd. They lost 2 games in a row, but could play OU and realistically beat them by 40 points. An upset loss like that one to NC can do a huge amount of damage. They're on the ropes, the great teams recover, the not so great dont. They lost 2 last year and finished with a Big East title in a masterful performance to close the season agasint Pitt and won the Orange Bowl or whatever game that was against FSU.

Last year's OU team was supposidly "One of the Greatest TEAMS of all Time".. They lost 2 straight.

Does that take away from the fact that they beat A&M by 77? or Beat Texas like 65-14?

The Best teams lose, its not unheard of. To cite TAE's example, are the Yankees the best team in baseball? Yes. Do they win the world series every year? No.
