ok, well my mother is a very inteligent person (teacher), who keeps up with the news, she told me that some of the countrys that were hit with the tsunami offered help imediately, we just did not aaccept it. along with many other countries in the world,we just havent accepted anything, she believes its because they do not have a clear assement of the damage, this is what was heard

Did you ever try to help an old lady cross the street, and she adamantly says she doesn't need help, that she can do it herself. The USA is just like this. We'll help anybody, but we can fend for ourselves. That's just our philosophy. Thanks for the offer, but we can do it ourselves.
