A couple of years ago I stopped at a Sheetz in Virginia. They sold soup in those days, maybe they still do down south. Anyway, I ordered some chicken noodle soup, and noticed that before the girl put the lid on it she had her thumb in the soup. So I said to her, "Excuse me, but what's your thumb doing in my soup?" She said, "It's infected and my doctor told me to keep it warm". I then said, "Well in that case, why don't you just stick it up your A$$". She replied, "That's what I was doing during my break".

For comparison, I stopped at BP across from WalMart in Bedford yesterday to get gas. I noticed there was gas on the ground but didn't give it much thought. But when my tank filled up the pump just kept on pumping. Down my car, onto my pants and shoes. So I went inside to tell the girls about it, and they said 'oh yeah, we know. it happened to an old man earlier. we felt really bad. it was all over his pants and everything'. Then they stood there talking to each other about whether they should call anybody or shut the pump off. It's gasoline!! So I went on my way to the pizza shop. Handed the girl there a 50 cent piece. She had no idea what it was, so I had to tell her. On my way back home, pump still operating. Call the girls back to see if they shut it off. They said 'no'. So I had to call the owner to get it shut off.

Is it just me? I would think that it would be common sense for anyone when a gas pump is continually overflowing that it would be turned off. I ended up paying for gas that was on the ground not my tank. Thank goodness I didn't go inside and let the pump run, or let my car run while I pumped.

This would not have happened at Sheetz!!!

Things I don't like about Sheetz (at least the new one on 17th street)

Can't pay for gas inside, 'because we're a restaurant'
They don't sell oil, 'because we're a restaurant'
Don't sell lottery tickets, 'because we're a restaurant'

And the service is very SLOW. I've waited 15-20 minutes for food there on a consistent basis.

I had the same pump experience at the CoGo's in Ebensburg, Rt. 22. It was 6 MONTHS until they put a new nozzle on that 1 pump. It's an Exxon/ Mobil gas dealer. I guess if you want food fast in Altoona, you go through a drive-up.
