coach, i don't think anyone can really blame TAE for not entering PSU after those first three games, i doubt even the PSU faithful would put them in the top 25 after those games....
i did read your rules TAE, and just as coach said, everyone has a preconceived notion of how teams will do and they therefore rank them higher. I agree that PSU didn't play 3 stellar teams to begin the year, but they still only lost 1 game on the year while OSU and Notre Dame lost 2. And just a guess, but you probably had the preconceived notion of OSU having a good year so you placed them in the tops of your poll. So therefore, they would end up higher even after having 2 losses then a team that started out of your poll. I agree with you that the other polls are crap, all polls are, but just as in the actual polls, your poll punishes a team for not having the hype at the beginning of the year, which is totally wrong.
and ohio states out of conference schedule wasn't as weak as PSU, they played Texas, but they also played Miami of Ohio, and San diego St.
and notre dames schedule was even worse.....Yes it looked good at the time of when they played teams, but in the end, they played a weak schedule Pitt, Michigan, Michigan State, Washington, Purdue, USC, BYU, Tenn, Navy, Syracuse, and Stanford.
Most years Mich, Mich State, Tenn, and Purdue could count as credible opponents by those 4 teams combined for a record of 22-22, that's not too great and BYU, Navy, Syracuse, and Stanford are just not good.
