Does anyone remember when Penn State's basketball team had a Blue-White game at Bedford High School???? It was in the early 80's
You people are so hypocritical it cracks me up.

I personally think it is a great idea and think more schools should do it. Interacting with the fan base. Imagine what it means to the kids in high school. I am sure they get to interact with the coaches and players. I would have liked to have that when I was in school.

You mean all those castles in England and Europe are "monuments to stupidity"?

One does have to think about the poor Pitt players in this situation though. Like frostlion said they probably have something better to do like: classes, studying, labs, lifting, practice--hold on, wait a minute, this is practice. Come on its not a "Meet the 2006 Panthers" at the local shopping malls, it's 2 public practices 10 minutes across town.

Re: The Circus Hits the Road
I guess the Steelers scrimmaging the Redskins at Latrobe High School on occassion is stupid too, right?
Does that make things a little clearer how ridiculous this Pitt bashing is? I know their are PSU/Steeler fans out there.
Funny how anything Pitt does is wrong and anything Penn State does is right........Can you say Brainwashed?
Or is there some reason that it's okay for a Pro team to do it and not okay for a college team??? Could one of you get out your blue&White football etiquette books and let me know?

Ask George Patton, but you might need some smelling salts.

Cowher doesn't need to schelp around for recruits.
Since we are going to talk about bashing, especially "all this Pitt bashing." Funny how whenever anyone starts a thread about PSU, with good intentions, such as abpk2903 and his thread about PSU and the NIT, it ends up with 1618 posts, 3/4 of them by Pitt fans who come up with every comment Ed Dechellis has ever made, or whatever gimmick PSU is giving away at the door that evening, or hell, even what time the game is on TV.
Not only that, but in the past several months it has been suggested, stated, or debated at length in numerous threads that:
(1) Joe Paterno endorses and encourages gang rape.
(2) PSU, the campus and surrounding area, and its fans are racist.
(3) PSU and its Administration has manipulated and withheld information from the Center County DA.
(4) PSU will not schedule Pitt in football because of some personal vendetta or grudge.
(5) Rene Portland, is guilty, even though not one second of testimony has been given, of sexual discrimination.
Now if you believe all of that, then perhaps we really need to have a lengthy discussion of what it means to be brainwashed.

Re: The Circus Hits the Road
Well Frosty, you started this thread with an opening line of...
"Talk about pathetic. Now Wanny is taking his show on the road. "
So explain your bashing? Is Wanny really recruiting or is it more of a public relations idea....to generate more interest as well all know they need?
For the record, most of your list of Penn State bashings I agree with and they are ridiculous and make me embarassed to be a Pitt fan at times. However, that said, I will agree with #4, from where I sit, it's valid and there are many, many people that feel it is why they no longer play
As for your next comment
"Could you imagine what the press would say if JoePa scheduled a few practices at Bald Eagle, Philipsburg, and Altoona???"
Speaking for Altoona only, I think their press would be ecstatic and look favorably on Penn State doing that on the Mansion Park Turf....why would they not?????

Re: The Circus Hits the Road
You forgot 6) reluctance to disclose Paterno's salary to the taxpaying public. But who's counting? Anyway, all that stuff about Ed DeChellis quotes and BJC giveaways ARE TRUE!!! They are not made up. Who can make this stuff up???? I consider it a public service to bring this to the attention to the general reading public. Inquiring minds want to know. And General Patton was ONE of a million generals since the beginning of warfare. Why should we believe what he said, and not all the others who built forts, constructed castles, dug trenches on a hilltop? Naturally, Patton rode around in a mobile army, no wonder he did not care for fixed defenses. Ask the Union soldiers at Cold Harbor what a good fixed defense was worth. Especially after their 2nd charge. And it was o.k. though that people ran to Fort Bedford when the Indians showed up. These poor schmucks thought a fort was pretty, pretty good. No one said, "Who's stupid idea was it to build this fort in the middle of nowhere?"
