Ok, so my estimations were off. I was using that as an average since the Carrier Dome is set up for what I believe is 32,000 for basketball. I was using 25,000 as an average.

If someone had a Syracuse Basketball Media Guide, we could probably find out attendance numbers.

Regardless whether they had 16 home games or 18 home games, there is a big difference in 20-some thousand people at a Syracuse game compared to about 6,000 in Rec Hall at PSU.

Syracuse didn't feel it was fair to share their basketball money with PSU when PSU wanted to keep all of its football revenue to themselves.

Here's the thing. We know that temple has a lot of problems in their university and doesn't really have a solid sports team that can elevate the others. So Temple is an exception. But Penn State has always has success on the football field, and is one of the biggest programs in the country. Isn't there more of a chance of them elevating their level of basketball since the football team does so well? If they would have joined the Big East back then, I think the team would be better than it is today. That's just my opinion. But if that were the case, the sharing of basketball revenue would not be a problem for teams like Syracuse.

The same can be said for the schools that may have had average or below average football programs but solid basketball programs. Just being associated with Penn State in football should have enabled them to elevate their programs, right?

You mean like the Big Ten teams? It seems most of the Big ten basketball teams are pretty solid.
