that is high school.
We aren't talking about something that brings in millions and millions of dollars.
Also, I will comment on it further.
PSU plays at Indiana and at Illinois, etc. Why? They are in conference opponents. If Pitt was in the B10 as an in conference opponent, this conversation would be done as it would be a one and one series. A long time ago, they chose not to get into a conference with the Nits. When it is OOC, the big dog rules....
I don't even like these arguments because it makes it look like I care about Pitt in some way. I could care less about them and their program. It has nothing on PSU. Pitt football's fanbase is 25x less than PSU's. They are a second rate program.

The Windber example is retarded because they are Windber's CONFERENCE OPPONENTS. They have to play at eachother's fields every other year!

Explain your series with Temple.

They have been to PSU a ton of times. I think, but I'm not positive, that it will be a 2 for 1 with Temple coming again in a TBA game.
Also...there are lots of alums in the Philly area and PSU recruits the daylights out of that area as well. I wish Temple was a better team... With that whole area PSU recruits Rutgers would be the best option now. Their head man has PSU ties and PSU recruits the Jersey/NY area so getting a game out there is good for the university.
I don't want to see them all the time, but for a one time thing it is nice to go east since PSU doesn't go that way at all otherwise.

What's the difference if Windber is in the same conference as Shade. We're talking money here. Why should Shade take money from all those Windber people? It may not be millions and millions like coach just said, but they are making out financially even though they have a poor product most years. How is that fair? Should windber fans be subsidizing Shade's sports programs? Like that Penn State reasoning of TAE, the team with the biggest stadium and biggest fanbase should host the game. Forget about any homefield advantage. Forget about fairness. Forget about Shade having to travel to Windber all the time. Forget about Shade's fans having to travel all the time. Windber is being taken advantage of by having to play Shade on the road. Right?

Forget about "fairness", give me a break. Pitt's football program generates little money. From a PROGRAM standpoint, Pitt is atrocious right now.
Moldo, you know those teams are conference opponents, and you know how the home and home games go in conferences. Get a better example. You're starting to slip in your old age.

I read one sentence, and I don't need to read the rest to realize where the post is going to go. How thickheaded are you? It has EVERYTHING to do with being in the same conference! You are GUARANTEED to play each other year in and year out, and it will work out evenly, that's the way conferences work. What is so difficult about this concept that you can't wrap your head around? If Pitt wants to play PSU, join the Big10, or heed the requests of the bigger, stronger, and overall more powerful school.
It's this simple...
IF PITT WANTS TO PLAY PENN STATE SO BAD, THEY WILL DO WHATEVER THEY NEED TO DO TO GET THE GAME DONE.
Penn State could go the rest of eternity never playing Pitt again and it would NOT bother the university, the players, and the fans as much as you think it should/would/does.
P.S.,
Shade will beat Windber this year...(just like Notre Dame will run all over PSU, HA!)

Just one question for everybody. In football, whether it is high school, college or pros, is there an advantage to playing at home? If so, then why should ONE team always have that advantage over it's opponents?

I forgot that PSU plays all it's games @ Beaver Stadium this year. You're right Moldo, they have the def. advantage over all its opponents...
The last time I checked, 2 and 1 is not 3 and 0. Nice try again.
NEXT!!!!

Also, I believe if PSU basketball wants to play Pitt... they should play a 2 and 1 with 2 at Pitt. PSU hoops is improving under ED, but they aren't on a level to command a home and home with Pitt.
