So now we have the PSU guys on better behavior and who starts the problems in a thread? A Pitt fan. The more things change the more they stay exactly the same.

I just don't like the penalty kicks because they seem unrealistic in the scope of the game. Very rarely do we even see breakaways in a game. I dont have a better solution, but the hockey comparison is wrong simply because of the size of the nets in both sports. Yes, the projectile is bigger in soccer and should have a bigger net, but for the comparison to work, the soccer goalie would have to be 15 feet tall and 3 times as wide. I dont know. I would rather see the teams play 50 OT's if need be. Someone will score.

count
(and before someone jumps on me about it, i was a keeper in high school, so i can say that they don't do a whole lot of work in the game, it comes down to certain moments)
Thats becuase you played for ridge...the only work you had to do was pull the ball out of the net and kick it up to the center spot.

that's not true gunner and you know it! lol. just wait a few years when the kids that played on the jr. high soccer team begin to be starters on the varsity squad, i think ridge will start to dominate. and anyways...this isn't about ridge soccer, it has it's own thread...this is about PK's!

I am probably the biggest soccer fan on here (except maybe for Gunner), but I am not a fan of penalty kicks. They will not change because I cannot see FIFA going to an infinite number of sudden death overtimes. They will not allow extra substitutions. The best solution they have come up with is to make the two extra times sudden death, but they went back on that about five years ago. Now I do think penalty kicks are exciting, but it is an arbitrary way to decide a game.
