I'll congratulate whoever I want. It wasn't the coaches choice to let Jason pitch the rest of the game against Bellefonte. Jason went home and iced his arm all night and came the next day and said he felt just as good as he did the day before. I would have to say be looked pretty dang good both days.

I hate it when something doesnt go the way you want it. All we ever hear is everything we ever did wrong. The things we did wrong as a team are the first things we already know. I would like to see parents and fans start to let us know the things we did right. Instead the only thing that comes out of their mouths are all negative.

well, if you're talking about my comment, I was saying something positive about your saying something positive...many just tear down here, not compliment those that succeed....

if you're talking about my comment about Jason Long pitching 12 innings in two days, it IS the coaches' decision.....sometimes a coach has to look out for the long-term health of a player instead of allowing a 15-year-old with years ahead make the decision....it might have been a tough choice, but sometimes that tough choice, for the health of a player, has to be made...sure, he might feel ok now....and he might have the arm that can recover well now....that's great....but, if down the road, near or far, there are arm problems, could it be traced to this? I guess we'll see...

and yes, I have been a coach....and I have made decisions for my players or my team....that's what a coach does....

and 121422, I am not attacking your opinions....I congratulated you for complimenting the quality of an opponent....and, I give you a coach's point of view of utilizing a young pitcher's arm...

if you are who you are, you have the potential to be a fine player, and I will enjoy watching your development....

yes, I know...three in a row...my apologies.....here's something to read..I hope it comes through...it talks about arm injuries to young pitchers and studies about pitch counts...

Well see longball you werent in the dug out were you he was at 84 when the 7 innings were over and threw a total of 127 pitches in 12 innings which from your article he threw 22 more pitches than he was allowed for his age. But he also took the right precautions for his arm iceing it heating and taking good care of it. The coaches also askd him if his arm was ok to throw. Now i know it isent good to do what he did. But does this oppurtuinty come around many times.? to put the load on your back knowing if he piches this game and wins they go to states. i dont think that oppurtuniy comes by. So he pitched 12 innings and had 1 week and 3 days rest b-4 he pitched again. So he had the right rest. And wasent drastically over pitching. Resulting in why the kid will probally not have a bad arm down the road.
but yeah i agree with mubaseballer....the team mount union played was very good. and they were the better team both days. but that mount union team did all they could do to try to get a victory, and that shows alot, from the players and the coaching staff.

you're right, I guess...winning is the most important thing....maybe they'll change HS pitching rules to match those for 15-year-olds....

Wait, within this topic there's somebody from Mount Union complimenting an opposing team who defeated them? Hell just froze over. I can't NAME a single time where I've ever heard anybody ever say such a thing. We lose, our fans and players attack the officials, the opposing fans and the coaches. Everybody always points the finger and plays the blame game. It's good to finally see somebody who's broken out of the standard Mount Union norm.
