SportsFan...tell me this.
Lets say you are the AD and McCort is telling you we will pay all that money to YOUR SCHOOL just to play and practice there plus concessions. Thats free money. There will be no maintenance on the field since its artificial, there will be nothing except for opening the gates and turning on the lights. It would be thee dumbest move to turn that down.
Secondly, playing at Johnstown is the best move the Crushers made because it plays out completely in there favor but I dont think it was just for an extra edge. The point put NO draining system whatsoever in their field since they would just be tearing it up again when they put in the turf. The field is just not playable for any football/baseball or any other sport you want to play there, especially in the weather weve had all week. The move just had to be done.

I totally understand the money thing. Some things I think you shouldn't sell out for the money. In my opinion this is one of them.

Like i said before, probably half of the Trojan fans I talked to were in agreement, and the other half weren't. I also had some fans tell me that playing there is one thing, but they should not be allowed to practice.

Everyone has there opinion, and I just think if it were the other way around there would probably also be a 50/50 split of Crusher fans that would say the same thing I'm saying.

5-10 years ago, no one had turf, and it wasn't a big deal playing on muddy fields. Hearing some people talk on here, you would think rain is some new kind of weather phenomenon never seen before by man.

Now we have the Eastern part of the state that postpones games all of the time because of rain, and playoff teams looking for artificial turf fields to rent. What's next? In another five years all rain games will be postponed because balls are too slick. Five years after that if the temperature is below 40 degrees games will be canceled because it's too cold. 5 years from that all schools will be required to build domes for their football teams.

I think I finally realized why American football isn't big in England, it rains all the time there!

Well...in the 70's Windber's biggest rival by far was Richland. And Richland played their home games at...you guessed it...Windber Stadium.

And when the light pole fell over at Windber Stadium several years back, Conemaugh Township extended the courtesy of allowing Windber to play at their field. I don't see any problem with this as long as you don't "wear out your welcome".
