It's a nice tandem, Donaldson and Hoover. Add the other guys who know their roles exactly, and you have a tough team to beat. The main problem with the Lions last night was the other five (sometimes it seemed like 6 or 7) guys guarding them!! We weren't used to that kind of pressure. Facing it can't help but make the Lions a better team. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a lot closer game at the TD. Remember, we exchanged road wins during the regular season with the Titans last year.

Yeah I mean it wasn't as bad as the score represented when both teams had their JV's in at the end of the game Tussey scored the last 9 points. So with the varsity the score was more like 47-29 which doesn't look near as bad. Ridge played their worst game of the year so far.

One thing that needs to be improved is coaching for Ridge. Tussey was prepared and know what they needed to do whereas Ridge looked clueless.

When Tussey was struggling and needed a basket Bailey always called a bread and butter play and two passes later it was a lay-up whereas Ridge did not execute a play for a lay-up all night.

You really hit the nail on the head with ridge's coaching. The ridge boys certainly were not ready to play on tuesday night. As a coach you have to have your players prepared to play a game both physically and mentally. certain ridge players looked like deer in the headlights when they faced the tough tussey defense. Other times, players looked out of shape and disinterested in the game. Certain ridge players played as hard as they could, but there was some blatent loafing on the court by some others. Fundamentals lacked: absolutely no boxing out, not screening or coming off screens properly, not being able to get open on V cuts, extremely poor foul shooting, not posting up properly, and not knowing how to get position to take charges. ridge had a height advantage but still got killed on the boards. All of this is the coaches job to teach their players. ridge will get by in the SHL against most of the teams playing like this, but will always struggle against well coached teams.

This is not meant to be an attack on the ridge coaches or players. These are the facts.

I think it's funny that people can sit behind a computer and feel they understand the game and can coach just as good as the person actually doing the job. Realistically, they usually don't have the knowledge, the ability to implement that knowledge, or the organizational talent necessary to field a team that will play to it's maximum potential. Instead of throwing somebody under the bus, grab an application and see if you can make a difference.

It was a miserable evening all around for Ridge. There's a positive spin to this game, though. It would be pretty hard for the Lions to play any worse, but they still kept the game close for a while.

yeah, it was close for a little while but not long enough. what i saw that night was as soon as ridge got behind they tended to give up. if something made them angry they were able to make a few good plays but that only lasted until tussey would score a few more and it was back to the old ways. also i think that the players/plays should have had some variation. when ridge saw that something wasn't working they should have changed strategies instead of letting the same style keep them down all night.
