They still advanced

and in 4 games in calendar year 2006 they beat celtic 3 times and lost once
1-0 in Roy Keane's Testimonial
something like 3-0 in a preseason friendly
3-2 at Old Trafford on matchday one of the CL

Know the facts before you diss the red devils my friend.

I want to see how big of a Barca fan you are...
without googling or anything, how many of the following titles have they won?

European?
La Liga?
Copa del Ray?

Not that I'm trying to be an a-hole or anything, but you seem to me like one of the fair weather fans that started liking Barca for 2 reasons
1: Ronaldinho and Eto'o
2: they won the Champions League last year
Am I close?

sortof.... i started liking them three years ago, when they started gaining a lot of reputation. i really like all teams, but i just love to watch their games. just because of their abilities.. however, my second fav team is the red devils, or the hotspurs. i also like

bayern munich
real madrid
chelsea
arsenal
liverpool
celtic
inter
roma
sao paulo

just to name a few....

woah woah woah!

you my friend are NOT a fan! i say again, you are NOT a fan. There is NO WAY IN HADES that you can like United, and any one of liverpool, chelsea or arsenal. Sounds to me like you cheer for whoever is winning the time. I can't even begin to explain the pure hatred that is shared between United and liverscum, allow me to show you some examples of what I mean, here are 3 songs that can be heard from the Old Trafford terraces on any given gameday...

to the tune of "Oh my Darlin"

Build a bonfire
build a bonfire
put the scousers on the top
put the city in the middle
and you burn the f***ing lot.

(scouser being a word describing liverscum)

to the tune of "o when the saints"

O liverpool...O liverpool
is full of shlt...is full of shlt
O liverpool is full of shlt
its full of shlt, shlt and more shlt
O liverpool is full of shlt

and finally a song about Ji-Sung Park, United's Korean import:

Park Park wherever you may be
You eat dogs in your own country,
it could be worse, you could be scouse
eating rats in your council house.

So you see my young naive friend. You cannot possibly like United and anyone of the aforementioned 3 and ESPECIALLY not liverscum!!!

i'm a schalke fan myself from germany. it was fun having a munich fan in the house when a german foreign exchange student lived with us. schalke beat them both times in the regular season i believe but munich still won the title. that's why my avitar is under my name on the left, the schalke emblem.

Three points:

1. I am a United fan and you cannot also like Liverpool, Chelsea, or Arsenal. That is like being a Penn State, Ohio State and Michigan fan.

2. Barcelona did not just recently get a reputation. They have always been one of the best clubs in Europe. They just recently had Champions League success.

3. Is this topic "Best team" or "Favorite team"? For best team, I would probably not go with Man U, even though I root for them. I would probably have to go with Chelsea (despite Man U leading them in the table), Barcelona, Lyon, or AC Milan.

1. Good comparison wildcat, my personal favorite for comparing United to the scousers is the Isralis and the Palestinians.

2. yes, Barca has been a good team for a while, but they really havent been in the spot light for that long, only the past 2 or 3 years, since Ronaldinhos arrival have they become superstar status.

3Lyon is overrated in my opinion, sure they've won the last 5 or however many Ligue One titles, but the french league really aint that great and it shows in European competition. As far as the best team in the world, I say that chelsea has the most POTENTIAL to be the best, but the way they've played without their starting sweeper and keeper, it proves that they are no where near the best. Also the fact that they have failed to get any decent results from Serie A's all time leading goal scorer proves that they are far from their best.

I disagree about Lyon. They have been to the final 8 of the CL the past two years and are a good bet to be there again this year. The French league is not great, but they have completely dominated it.
