GO GATORS
Re: GO GATORS
You know, UPS did beat a quality opponent but you have to admit - it came down to a huge break, when with 10 minutes to go, Tenn. coughed it up on first down @ the 16 & the defender races some 86 yds..... now if Tenn. goes up 3 or 7, ballgame most likely over & Ants Moronelli (who in a solitary moment of New years morning proficiency) would not have gone from Village Idiot to early favorite for next years Heisman!
And Wisconsin > worst top 10 team ever, they played no one, barely beat a 4 loss Ark team while garnering less than 200 Total Yds. offense for the entire game.....USC beat this team in Ark., earlier in yr. like 50- 13!!!!!
BIG EAST..... UNDEFEATED IN BOWL PLAY
big ten.... 1 lucky, 1 ugly win.....rest of their bowls 5 BIG L's !!

I have to say thank you to me ..." for not being stupid enough to go to Penn State."
Yea. It wasn't a good play on defense to make the stip then recover the ball and run it back.
I remember you saying earlier this year in the first Bedford vs. McCort game that Bedford CAUSED those turnovers and won the game because of what they were able to do on defense. Now, when it comes down to Penn State, Tennessee blew it and just gave them the game? Are you kidding me? They were trying to strip the ball, they did it, they returned it, they won by 10.
Another thing. If there was 10 mins left in the game, why didn't Tennessee mount a comeback after the fumble? Or did the runback take 10 mins off the clock and the game was over right then and there? The defense did what they had to do, win the game. Morelli played the best game of his career and it would have been better had D. Will and D. Butler held on to two balls @ the end of the first half. Tennessee was lucky to be tied at 10-10 and not down 16-3 at the half.
What bowl game did Pitt play in this year?

Re: GO GATORS
As strange as it is to say this, and as much of a homer as this sounds like, Tennessee was lucky they didn't lose that game by 25 points.

Wisconsin (#3 Big Ten ) beat Arkansas (#2 SEC)
Penn State (#4 Big Ten) beat Tennessee (#3 SEC)
Yea I would say the SEC is way better than the Big Ten. NOT
Take a look at the other Big Ten pairings and I think all but 1 was playing a higher seated team from some other conferance. The Big Least (2nd worst BCS conferance) got lucky and was paired up with teams from the ACC worst BCS conferance) as I said earlier neither conferance deserves an automatic BCS bid. The 3rd and 4th place teams from the SEC and Big Ten would dominate either one of those conferances.

Re: GO GATORS
What bowl was Pitt in this year? Better be careful or the designated Board Leatherneck Nazi may delete your posts for negative inferences towards a school! Well when your fledgling conference has three Top 10 teams & goes undefeated in 5 bowl games, it is hard to make a bowl! Remember that Wlat left the cupboard extremly bare & DW is enjoying a second year of excellent recruiting....Patience is a virtue; it will not be real pretty for Pitt next year either but Pitt's time is coming in 2 7 3 more years!
Darn, we only have 8 mos. left to debate this stuff 'fore college starts again!

Hey, nice job firing 2 meaningless assistants and not firing those coordinators. But hey, its like you said... Pitt'll be good in 273 years.
Funny how Minnesota is criticized for losing to a team that ended USC's winning streak! SELECTIVE READING!

Wisconsin's win was impressive, Penn states was 'nice' other Big 10 teams stunk....Arkansas could be considered SEC #2 on one hand because they won on tiebreakers to qualify for the SEC Champ. game but if you go by the polls they were the #4 SEC team (Let's face it, LSU and Auburn probably better teams....LSU beat Ark. Thanksgiving weekend handily) and Tennessee #3??? What have you been smoking? #5 at best and a case could be made for Georgia playing much better down the stretch and moving UT to #6 in the SEC.
Big 10 better than SEC......You have got to be kidding me! Fla, LSU and Auburn may be 3 of the best 5 in the country at seasons end. With Boise, L-ville and USC all having legit claims at being top 5 caliber, It's not a stretch to say the Big 10 didn't have a top 5 team. And please don't tell me how tough Texas was when OSU stomped them....they faded badly in the late season and appear to have been grossly overrated early on when the pollsters had them #2....for goodness sakes they barely escaped the clutches of Big 10 #9 Iowa!

Did we watch the same game? That game had all the makings of coming down to the last series before PSU made a big defensive play when UT was on the move. Nonetheless, PSU's win was a very nice win for them and I'll give credit where credit is due, but you could for good reason have been a lot more excited if it had been LSU, Auburn or Arkansas that had been the opponent instead of a limping-to-the finish line but still decent and dangerous Vol squad.
A nice win yes, lucky it wasn't 25?, I don't even think most die hard "staters" would claim that.

Re: GO GATORS
Yeah, we watched the same game. I say a PSU team that shot themselves in the foot 50 times, and then ran the ball at will. Was that not what happened? Maybe you were too worried about how Mark Richt was gonna choke again.
