Honestly I do not even know which big east team played who or what, I just lack that much time or knowledge. but what I do know is that every team placed before the big east went down and only two big ten opponents went down to defeat.

You don't lack knowledge, you just don't see the whole picture. Yes, the Big East went 5-0. I want to know why it is heralded when a Big East team beats Western Michigan in a bowl game, and Penn State (and other Big Ten schools) are criticized when they play them in the regular season. You can't have it both ways.
There's a strong case to be made for a Big Ten overhype, and I can't disagree with the actual outcomes of games. Michigan fired those coordinators, looked to have righted the ship, and did the exact same thing they did before they hired the new guys. What does that tell you? Maybe Lloyd Carr is the problem. PS, I agree. What about Ohio State? Best coaching staff in America... what the hell gameplan was that last night? Did anyone else see zero sense of emergency by the OSU staff? That was unreal. Wisconsin was lucky enough to duck OSU in scheduling, but still beat a nice opponent in a bowl game, and seems to have found a good coach in Bielema. Penn State had the Big Ten's best bowl performance, and if they would have played that way all season, you would have seen PSU get throttled by USC instead of Michigan. Illinois is only getting better. Indiana has the right coach. Minnesota needs to hire Mike Tice, because he is very interested. Northwestern is very bad and only getting worse. Iowa better get their heads right before they end up at the bottom of the conference.
The Big Ten seems to be undergoing a change, but the real change is going to be in the Big East. Petrino out, WVU's last 2 classes have been garbage in terms of recruiting, and Pitt will never win until they fire those coordinators. Rutgers is probably an annual 10-2 team at best. So the 2 conferences here, Big Ten and Big East, are gonna be really interesting next season.

I agree with AE....the S.Fla and Cinci wins mean nothing as those Bowl tie-ins are ridiculous and Mike Tranghese (BE commish) ought to be ashamed. But you have to admit the 3-0 by the Big East's 3 Top 12 teams nationally were nice and against legit competition. GT was ranked by at least one major poll prior to that game.
SEC is the best conference in the land.....have been and at least in the near future, always will be...Big East had a good year...overachieved slightly....Big 12, Big 10, Pac-10 and ACC were all disappointing and level of play was below expectations overall in these conferences than we have been accustomed to.
Next year is a new year and it will be fun to analyze, bicker, etc. with everyone all over again and I'm sure we'll see different results but what will they be?

Fictional matchups-
OSU-Wake
Mich- GT
Wisky- East Carolina
PSU- Kansas State
Iowa- Western Michigan
Louisville- Florida
WVU- USC
Rutgers- Texas
South Florida- Tennessee
Cincy- Arkansas
What do you think those results would be? Matchups have something to do with it I'd say.....
I do think the B10 laid an egg, but I don't think 1 game is the tell all. Sure Mich and OSU got beat on badly, but I don't think they were nearly as bad as the scores they were beaten by. For one night though, both teams were 100% dominated. OSU played the worst I've seen all year and Fla played their best BY FAR. Both the Mich and OSU games snowballed...nothing went right for either team. Stuff like this happens all year. OSU had a close win vs. Illinois. Fla had a close win against Vandy. That kind of thing happens.... You win close ones and blow outs. I'd say the better team won Monday night for sure though. Florida was just lights out and OSU had no gameplan to stop them.
Remember football and any sport really is based on a game to game basis. The Red Sox get beat by the Devil Rays 10-2, but then they come back and win the next one 8-3. It is a shame the games were so bad though.
A score is a score, but that isn't the only thing to go by. If it is... Fla beat Tenn by 1. PSU won by 10 over Tenn. So PSU would beat Fla by 9 and win it all?
Say Tenn isn't what they were early in the year or Texas was different early than now...well I wonder if a team can change after a 50 day layoff? Remember, Fla played 2 games while OSU was already done with their season. I don't buy that it is the reason the Bucks got hammered, but I think a break that long is ridiculous. If you don't agree, read this scenario:
Imagine this scenario.
NCAA hoops finish conf tournaments in Mid-March. Then 31 games are played from Apr 1st to May 8th. None of them mean anything. You can't win and advance. Win and done, lose and done... Then on May 10th, two teams picked by the media will play to decide a champion. Wichita State in the meantime will win the Circuit City Basketbowl to finish undefeated. They will beat Pitt by 2 in a BCS level hoops game. Florida will beat OSU in the championship game and finish with a few losses. They will be crowned the champion and Wich State will only have a fun story to tell.
Good job by the Gators... I can't wait til next year, but I'll still hate the system more than anything and ask myself why I still like it so much. 1 loss Fla got a chance to win the title, BARELY. A few more voters go the other way and Mich is in and Fla has no shot at it. 0 losses a few years ago got Auburn nothing even in this new BCS type of deal that was supposed to stop things like the PSU 1994 situation. Auburn went undefeated the other year and never even got a chance to win the title.

And then you have the Oklahoma situation. They clearly got screwed on TWO bad calls in the Oregon game, and that kept them out of BCS title contention w/ only 1 loss. You think there wouldn't have been a "crap" storm if OU and UM and USC and FLA all had 1 loss? OU and UF would have won conference title games. And after the way OSU played, any of those teams would be national champs right now. But like I said before, its your own fault if you put yourself in a position where a bad call loses you a game.
It's just sad that the fate of your team really doesn't even depend on what YOU do.

Well ROADIE, if S.Florida and Cinci wins mean nothing then minn. iowa wins would not have meant anything as well your logic is blurred there.
5-0 vs 2-5 nothing more to argue about.
and the thread IS called "overrated" the two teams that were heralded as national championship contenders looked horrible in their bowl games.
Ohio state was there on the strengh of the big-ten look where that got them. The big-ten was trly overrated this year and next year voters will be more observant and consider teams in the big-east as a result.

H.R. is a Big East fan and defender to this day, moron. Unlike you he has the ability to see outside his "realm" and realize what really happened. You hate the Big10 and Penn State. We get it. Move on.
