Some Penn State News.
Re: Some Penn State News.
I would like to say this about PSU recruiting. Checked the PSU spring roster and there are only 8 seniors with ONE year of eligibility left on this team. Throw in the scholarship obtained when Logan-El disappeared from the team and that gives you ONLY NINE scholarships available for 2008. So unless someone else quits or is kicked off the team, PSU will have to be VERY, VERY careful about who gets these scholarships in this upcoming recruiting class.

I'm sure 6 or 7 of them will do something stupid, so right there almost doubles our number of available scholarships.

Transfer's, being college students, and just stop playing football will open up a few scholarships.

Re: Some Penn State News.
When do PSU football players ever transfer? (Their basketball program is like a revolving door). And how often do kids on scholarship just quit and become regular students and pay their own way?

Re: Some Penn State News.
I see PSU got their 1st verbal for 2008 today. An offensive lineman. They presently have 25 offensive linemen and tight ends on their roster, only ONE of which will be graduating after this season. So that means 24 will be back after this year. They still only have 2 RB's coming back for 2008 and one fullback. With only 8 scholarships left, going to be interesting how many more OL's, TE's and WR's they still pick up. By the way, the PSU B-ball team just picked up a 6'1'' guard from the JUCO ranks. Just what they needed.

Re: Some Penn State News.
Antonio Logan-El left the Penn State football team about a week ago today. I have found out that he might transfer to play football at... (guess where?) Maryland. Yes, the school he turned down for Penn State. If he does transfer there, he basically wasted a year of eligibility by decommitting and re-committing to the school he commited to all along.

So does this make Antonio Logan-El "sloppy seconds"?

TAE: I'm impressed. Do you have a crystal ball or something? You said that several scholarships would come open for PSU next year it's true. James MacDonald, a redshirt sophomore WR for the Nittany Lions, has been dismissed from the football team for the usual "unspecified violation of team rules". AND, his dismissal has NOTHING to do with the recent scuffle in a State College apartment involving several Penn State football players. Are you sure you're not Karnac the Magnificant????

By the way. This MacDonald kid? Was his dad old, and did he have a farm?
