Neither was Cal last summer when they fired her, a short recap of which can be found here:

Diversity is very much in the foreground at PSU, so I would not expect changes anytime soon.

Pat Chambers had his season ending press conference today. Two important things of note which may help out the Nits next year. 1) There will be MORE "branding" (signs, posters, pictures) of men's basketball in the BJC concourse next year, and 2) the men's team will have a new film room which will be ready by November.

The more time goes along, the more I hate the BJC. It is nothing more than a money making concert venue that happens to also have some basketball games in it. It sucks to watch a game there, it seems like the fans are sitting in Port Matilda watching the game, and 90% of the games are over half empty.
I actually like the idea of additional branding around the BJC. When walking into a college basketball game, I want to see Penn States basketball things and not Jon Bon Jovi's and John Melloncamp's upcoming tour schedule plastered everywhere.
Penn State may the most "blah" program and venue in all of D1 college basketball.

The BJC is not a basketball arena. It's for graduation, career fairs, concerts, charity events, and other large events on campus. They just threw a basketball court in the middle so they could save money. It sucks to watch a game there.

I wish when they built Pegula arena they would have made it basketball capable. With the steep student section seating (similar to Maryland) and the smaller capacity it could have been a much better fit for basketball.

It sucks to watch a concert there, too!
