Don't give me that horrible excuse. District 2 has 3 state Ranked teams(Old Forge, Riverside, and Dunmore) and the only have 6 Class A teams. come on

This is absolutely correct! Alot of the LHAC /district6 people just love to dump on these two conferences. Quite frankly in single A football district 6 has the easy road to states. They don't play the WPIAL champ first round every year. The same team that crushes evryone. The PIAA should rotate the disticts first round opponents every year. While many of you bash Berlin, lets not forget that NBC did not win the title in 5A. The same team who gave Bellwood all they wanted. Now if Clairton disposed of Berlin in a blowout, what would happen to Bellwood? While we are at it lets remember that the so called Ill-CC is representing the area in single A. Many of you need to grow up and quit piling on one of the smallest districts in the state, not to mention ripping on non LHAC conferences! We are all aware district 5 lost to Clairton, let us know when district 6 beats them. Hell if anyone should be bitchin its Rochester they are the team who would have won it all a few times if it wasn't for close losses to Clairton, and they didn't get to go the title game at hershey!12HankQB wrote: No it's not cause of the WeakPac or Ill-cc being terrible. You have the best of nine District 5 teams going against the best of 38 District 7 A teams. The chances of the number one team out of 38 being better than the number one team out of 9 is very much in favor of district 7.
That's a completely different scenario. You're response is irrelevant to what I was saying so "don't give me that horrible reply". I am not talking about state rankings. I'm talking about the pure one-sided battle between District 7 and District 5. C'mon Man!animus wrote:Don't give me that horrible excuse. I'm saying if the fans, communities, players cared more about football in D5 there could be numerous state level teams in the Somerset Area. Its all about D5 stepping its game up to the WPIAL's level. If Districts like 2 can have state level teams, D5 can. Heck Southern Columbia comes out of D4 and only has 10 1A schools.12HankQB wrote:That's a completely different scenario. Really, what is sad is looking down your nose at district5! You guys know what would happen if the district 6 team played clairton the first round like district 5 does every year. A loss and get lit up. Same exact thing ,don't fool yourself.Athens/Cat wrote:I'm with Animus on this one.
Love D5 to death, but it's pretty sad to see them make excuse...after excuse...after excuse each year why the get lit up.
I'm talking about a spread across many fields. Most schools can only be good at one fall sport for boys or girls. In the fall, boys are split between football and soccer. Also when I graduated many did not play because they felt it took too much away from their ability to be farmers. My senior class had the players, however they went in other directions whether it was soccer, work or anything else. There wasn't the pure desire in everyone to play football, a lot of it was the fact that we were getting crushed. Now with all of our youth football, the program has turned around fairly well, but still to say that the competition level will meet that of D7, that I can't do.animus wrote:Hank,
Why is the time not being upgraded to invest in the football programs? The best way to get tired of getting arsewhoopings is to do something about it.
