According to a small article in the Tribune, he was seen at Rutgers soon after decommitting.

No he was at Rutgers before de-committing and the Pitt coaches did not like that very much, so you can draw your conclusions from there.

Irregardless of when he was at Rutgers recently, his Twitter account stated that HE was the one decommitting, making his collegiate decision too soon. He had been to Rutgers junior day in February, well after he had committed to Pitt. He has 9 other offers from Rutgers, BC, Maryland, Louisville, WVU, Iowa St, Temple, Toledo, Buffalo.

Recruiting is a weird thing to follow, but from what I can gather it was a mutual parting of ways.
