It seems to me that Tyler Smith is a good athlete in all the sports he plays. I have been to every football game including the ones with JH who is also a good football player. TS gives his all to his panther teams whether you people believe it or not. Do any of you even personally know this kid to even see what kind of kid he is on the courts & field or not. Why do you people have to constantly cut down this kid. So he had a bad game it's funny that I never see any of you praise him when he is scorcing 33 points for his team. He is still one of the reasons that the panthers even made it the championship in the first place and don't count him out for the district 5 playoffs just yet.

Smith had a good season and one bad game, and you all want to make the kid feel worse than he does. I think you all need to back off and lets give this team support through the district 5 playoffs. To the person who said that smith did not try and gave up on saturday you should of stayed home. Cause most of the people i talked to think he did what he could. He had a bad game, it just sucks that it was that game.

I was at the game, and i agree that smith had a bad game...the fact that he didnt make a field goal the entire game didnt bother me too much because everyone has bad games, but the fact that he let it get to his head and kind of gave up on his team during a championship game dissapointed me the most...Smith will rebound in the D5 playoffs as long as tuffnutts isnt around....and tuffnutts u said earlier that gibbons got beat by fleegle the whole time, i kind of disagree with that...yes he did guard him most of the time but i remember a few times fleegle made smith look sick by blowing past him...but congrats to north star on a great championship win, and good luck to both teams in the district playoffs, and good luck to tuffnutts on trying to get reinstated back to shade high school to see some athletic events

We aren't trying to bring Smith down we were just simply saying he had a bad game and that his team needed him and as the senior leader on the team he should have done more. Then you (tuffnuts) took it personal and started going off on how we tear him down. We don't want to do that to that young man as we all know that he is a great basketball player and athlete. We know that teams are worried about him and come up with a game plan to stop him. We would have said the same thing if Gibbons or Fleegle played that way Saturday. So just calm down and know that he will come back strong for the playoffs because he is a leader on that team. We all hope Shade gets back to the D5 championship game.

[quote="tuffnuts"] Ask berlin about smith? He torched them twice on an 80 yard kickoff return and then a minute later he caught a 50 yard td over 3 defenders.

haha ok andy, well berlin ran right at smith on purpose. ask your boy tyler about seeing the sayler boy coming at him how many times that game. how many times did he stop him? i seem to recall ty had a bit of trouble, and he didnt have too much luck stopping the receivers he was covering either. ask your "son" about that one. sure tyler can run away from defenders but when it comes time for tackling, smith is nowhere to be found. catching that pass over 3 defenders? im pretty sure berlin wasnt putting all 3 d-backs sitting in a cover 3 on smith. Maybe he caught the pass over "1" defender, but not 3.

Andy why do you bring Tyler all this criticism. Tyler is a good kid a good teammate and a good athlete. All this crap about Tyler started when someone gave an opinion that Fleegle or Gibbons would win County MVP then you start on your rants about how great Tyler is and all his accomplishments in summer leagues and various other sporting events. Andy you bring this on Tyler and you only. Andy you open the kid up to this criticism so PLEASE STOP. The pressure YOU put on Tyler's shoulders I can't even imagine (example UPJ this past saturday). You do this Andy and you only. I'm sure if you would have stayed away from your keyboard there would be a lot of people on this site supporting Tyler as the MVP but you should stay away from your keyboard. Andy if someone is good at something it shows on the court or field and even in the workplace and people recognize it, we don't need to be told how good he is by you constantly. Do you understand that concept? For Tyler's sake I certainly hope so.

If i were kenny or tyler, i wouldnt give a crap about who wins mvp, i would care about one thing and one thing only and thats a championship....but tuffnutts i guess u care about mvp more...i mean what do they get, all they get is their picture in the paper and a piece of paper that says your mvp...its not like the nba where you get a nice big trophy or a nice car...if your a team player you wouldnt even think about getting mvp, and i know kg doesnt think that way, and im sure smith wouldnt think that way either, especailly being a senior on the team, but when you have ab on your back the whole time i guess thats all you should care about

I have started to post to this topic, or others like it for quite some time but have avoided it until now.

I find it a shame that most folks outside the Shade district won't be discussing what the Shade basketball team accomplished this year but they'll remember the postings from some guy named Tuffnuts. I guess when someone can't let go of their high school days and the need to be in the spotlight, this is what happens.

From what I gather, I expect that this will continue into the baseball season: same actors, same rantings. Maybe a team player, a team leader will step up and stop it during baseball season?

You guys are the ones who say fleegle or gibbons!!!! Do you forget all your posts from day 1 about everyone else and how bad smith is and attitude? Why shouldn't I stick up for smith. I feel he is the m.v.p this year regardless fo what you people say.! One bad game doesn't change my choice either. He bounced back with 16 in a half and 31 against rockwood including 4 -3,s giving him 56 on the season. I have seen your boys have bad games and their heads down also, but I won't say they aren,t first teamers because of the bad. Look at all the good. Give smith 2 freshman stars that are 6-6 and he will win a championship with it also. He hits his shots at 50% that game and n.s loses!! You can thank your lucky stars he was off. I would like to see a rematch because I know tyler wouldn't be off again and I guarantee you that. He didn't miss by much and the balls were down inside the cylinder and popped out many of times. It won't happen again, just like I told you, he would bounce back. And pressure doesn't come from andy, his talent and ability does. He was taught from the best!!! And his name wasn't fyock!!!!
