What about the Windber question? Is Akron better than Michigan just because they won their conference?
[/quote]

What about the question about what conference has been so ridiculed and the laughing stock of D1 football that it was suggested, until WVU saved its sorry butt, that its automatic BCS bid be revoked?

Sure wasn't the Big Ten, SEC, PAC-10, Big 12, or the ACC. So which conference was it?

Again. Is Akron better than many teams just because it won it's conference?

Where did you jump to this conclusion? TAE said that Akron is a conference champion, and then asked what the Citadel did last year. He never once said that UVA would be dominated by Akron, as well all know this is far from the truth.

And the Windber question is a halfassed attempt at an argument. There are playoffs in highschool and different classifications to determine just how good you are vs. the rest. In college, there are 'experts', who decide how good teams are. Nice try, buddy.

I know they scheduled UVA in advance, I just wanted to see how long you and that circus bear Double H would take to get on me for saying it.

Look. It's dumb luck that Akron won their conference and they are on our schedule. It's just dumb luck that we have a BCS team and a conference champion on our OOC schedule. Isn't that better than playing say Washington and Buffalo? Yes, it is. So, for 2006, there is no argument to be made about PSU lack of OOC opponents. Just because it is dumb luck doesnt mean it isn't still true. They are conference champions.

The only knock on PSU's schedule, for this season, was the fact that they have been screwing the fans on the ticket prices. Now, I know that it's risky to schedule too many good teams in NCAA ball, but everyone of us on here knows there's no excuse for Youngstown State. I would have rather seen PSU go on the road to Idaho than play a I-AA team at home. More on PSU's treatment of the fans in another thread in a few minutes.

Akron is a team on the rise, whether or not you want to believe it. That coach has his act together and he has that team believing they can win some games. If this guy stays at Akron and doesnt jump to greener pastures, we're looking at a team who is on the verge on being an annual MAc contender. And believe it or not, CMU is not far behind. The MAC is one of the most exciting conferences in football right now because of the coaching turnover since Roethlisberger's senior season at Miami Ohio when the MAC was all the rage in the media. Those schools know and understand now how much money is in the college football business. They are all making adjustments to tap into that revenue.

That MAC conference, yeah, they're all a bunch of crappy teams. For them being so awful, they sure have some nice wins under their belt.

Yes, this is true, and as no Pitt fan has wanted to talk about, the MAC was, and perhaps still is, in line to take the automatic bid to the BCS held by the Big East.

If not the MAC, then perhaps C-USA.

how can c-usa take the big east bid when the big east just took their top programs? stop being so wankerish! We get your point the big ten is a higher rated conference than the big east. any other obvious points you would like to make? did you know it gets dark at night? rain is wet! and Penn State staff is racist homophobe rape endorsers, these are all proven facts! no need to make petty arguments all day and make up stupid stuff about confernce usa getting the big east bid over the big east.

Actually that point I was also making, in addition to the Big Ten being higher rated than the Big East, was that until WVU saved the Big East, the MAC, which you all ridicule PSU for schedulling Akron, etc, was ready to get the Big East BCS automatic bid.

All you Pitt fans can thank God for West Virginia!

bdftbllham: Why is the Windber question halfassed? TAE implied that Akron was a better opponent than UVA because they won their conference. My question about Windber was perfect. Just because you win your conference doesn't mean you are on of the top teams around. Guess this example went over your head.

There are playoffs to decide that in Highschool football, not in college. I guess that went over your head.
