After taking a quarter to acclimate to Central's size and speed and making some adjustments, Everett throroughly dominated this game. They outhustled, outrebounded, and just in general outperformed the Dragons in every phase of the game.
What was Central trying to accomplish on offense? Seemed like too much one-on-one stuff and standing around for a team with as much balance and as many weapons as they had. They didn't really have anyone take a leadership role either. Everett's leadership and poise was pretty evident...Miller, Garland, and Clingerman all played nice games at both ends. Kensinger was totally frustrated for Central and the much taller Dragons were outrebounded badly by the more fundamentally sound Warriors.
Anyone out there want to argue LHAC vs Sideling Hill League now??? Not a lot of difference at the top...Tussey, Everett, McConnellsburg, and S.Fulton are capable of competing with the LHAC. After all, anyone give the Dragons a more throrough beating than Everett did last night so far this year?
Everett's threats IMO are at S.Fulton (makeup game TBA), Punxsy Christmas Tourney (12/26-27), and at Tussey the last Friday of the regular season.

Your correct CD, but I guess I have a "thing" about people bashing the Sideling Hill League when there is very good quality small school boys basketball being played. Over the years, S.Fulton, NB, Everett, Tussey, and McConnellsburg at different times have had the kind of teams who could compete for an LHAC title...or certainly top 3 yet many have the notion that the bottom rung of the LHAC would win the SHL most years. While the quality of Football in the LHAC is far superior to the SHL's sister league in that sport (ICC) espec. in the lower two divisions, there is not a lot of difference in boys basketball, especially among the top 2-3 SHL teams each year. By all accounts Central is a threat to win there division in the LHAC this year, correct?

Was definitely surprised by outcome. Thought the Warriors had a chance but never expected a double digit victory. Watching the game, I too was surprised by the starters extended stay on the bench. They seemed to need a wake up call but the length of stay on the bench(almost 5 game minutes) was surprising. IMO even though they weren't playing with much intensity, they weren't been blown out of the game.
The subs who came in the game played hard, but provided limited offense.
My over all view of the game was that the Central kids haven't realized how good they can be yet and are playing not to lose and the Everett kids know they have a good team and are playing to win.

The easiest thing to do in sports is hustle.
during the game to many of our players (central) just tried to drive to the hoop and threw up bad shots. there were some no calls that could have been called throughout the game. we continued to attack the basket, but never got any calls in the 2nd quarter. then when coach took the starters out it was because they werent playing intense or as a team. most of the players that went in for the starters are seniors we just start a tall line up. without a post option it was hard to score, but we gave everett a tough time while they were on offense.
