Just a point about Ridge Dad's post. He states as a fact that Obama has voted to raise taxes 94 times. Just because McCain says something does not make it a fact. Check factcheck.org to see the facts behind this and other false claims by both candidates. I would assume that other "facts" presented by Ridge Dad are similar. I find that both conservatives and liberals like to quote such "facts". Just keeping it real.

Then before you make false accusations, learn to make sure you got YOUR facts straight.

"Twenty-three were for measures that would have produced no tax increase at all; they were against proposed tax cuts.


Seven of the votes were in favor of measures that would have lowered taxes for many, while raising them on a relative few, either corporations or affluent individuals.


Eleven votes the GOP is counting would have increased taxes on those making more than $1 million a year – in order to fund programs such as Head Start and school nutrition programs, or veterans’ health care.

The GOP sometimes counted two, three and even four votes on the same measure. We found their tally included a total of 17 votes on seven measures, effectively padding their total by 10.


The majority of the 94 votes – 53 of them, including some mentioned above – were on budget measures, not tax bills, and would not have resulted in any tax change. Four other votes were non-binding motions related to conference report negotiations."


Don't get fired up at me about politics. My main interest in politics is how blinded both liberals and conservatives get by the propaganda of their own party and candidates. Often what is presented as "fact" is truly just spin.

I do agree with you that he may increase some taxes, but I still feel he is better served for our country than Mr. McCain. It's looking like we may find out. I just really hope you're wrong because this country can't afford to get much worse.

Is that what most Americans want, someone who will fulfill a Democratic policy wish list?
