Have the boys from Shade High won you over just alittle ctindian?

We won't play them at our gym until Jan, but I'm gonna make a point to go see them real soon. Saturday night's game was the best $$ I spent in a long time.

Yes..they have won me over in terms of me thinking they are an awesome team. They havent won me as a fan becuase, well...I'm a CT fan and always will be and will always root against their opponnets.

I obviously overestimated CT's new coach and was incorrect in my assumption that he would pull a Scott Cable and turn a team of returning players who everyone counted out into a D5 championship contender. That still may happen, but so far its not so good for Chuck Lesko.

Anyway...after seeing Shade play with the speed, poise, and tempo that they did against township....i was intrigued at how good they mey actually be. So, i went to see them play against Central Cambria and I went to see them play hollidaysburg....and yes...they won me over. I honestly think Shade will make it to the Elite 8 or better in the State Playoffs this year

I totally and completely disagree that they will make it to the elite 8. Given the fact that the state tournament is just luck on who you play. Honestly, if a team actually plays defense on shade like SoFo did last year in the d-5 c-ship it is not a contest. Shade was averaging 70 some points a game last year and SoFo held them in the 20s I recall and won by quite the margin. Maybe, just maybe some good old fashioned defense can stop this so called powerhouse.

It's not at all unrealistic for Shade to make it to the Elite 8. Conemaugh Township made it their a few years back with the big two of Andy Byer and Jeff Byer leading them deep into the playoffs. The reason they lost was becuase they didnt have a whole lot of solid teamwork and had a propensity for turnovers and early foul trouble.

This year's Shade team is a great all-around team offense, doesnt turn the ball over, stays out of foul trouble...and, if I am reading your post right SFchief14..i think you are wrong becuase that was last year, and this is this year.

They have the same players back and are more experienced and will be able to step it up under pressure

I think it will be tough for them to get to the Elite 8 and that is just my opinion. One thing they do have going for them is that they have multiple scoring threats. The playoff bracket is ever so important in the playoffs. It appears we make opinions and do not know really know what is outside our area, I for one am guilty in my opening sentence. They are not real big and other than Barnes do you think they are that strong and physical? The Hollidaysburg battle does give them a ton of respect but I am pretty certain that Hollidaysburg starts a group of Sophomores (Swauger, Redfoot, Appleman...to name a few) correct me if I'm wrong.

hey SFcheif...stop living in the past...like i said u r obviously from southern fulton and you are still excited from winning D5 last year..rem that you have to back up what you are saying on here so by the way you are talking..i expect to see southern fulton in the championship again this year!! southern fulton was not that great of a team..i will give it to them for playing great D in that championship year and holding Shade to only 20 some pts..but rem that was last year...shade is playing alot better from watching them play last year to this year...i hope to see u two teams play again

First of all I said nothing about our team being better than Shades this year, nor , did I say anything about our team returning to D-5. Congratulations to Shade on ALMOST beating Holidaysburg. They are a powerhouse team but what have they done in the state tournament in the last 2 years or even 3 years to even indicate that shade will make it to the elite 8. I am not saying Shade is bad. And yes you are right , you have to back up your talk on here, so if Shade gets anything less than the elite 8 this year I am going to be disappointed.

I have never laughed so hard as when i heard that Shade could compete in the LHAC

Lets be honet...I know for a fact that Holidaysburg didnt even scout or prepared for Shade in that tournament. Maybe they should have; but they wouldnt have a chance in the LHAC not even this year and this is the best team Shade will ever have.

Forest Hills have already beat them, and there probobly going to finish last on there side of the LHAC

Now they did beat CC but they will finish last in there section as well. Shade is good in the westpac and westpac only. district 5 is terrible and they wont win 1 not 1 state playoff game...that I will bet money on.

I've never seen a team get so much credit for an almost WIN, Holidaysburg probobly played the worse game they have played in 10 years

It's a good year for Shade, but ITS SHADE PEOPLE...........YOU CANT BE SERIOUS

Truth I couldnt agree with you more. I am shocked of how biased everyone is on here towards Shade.
