People care about steroids in baseball more than football for a couple of reasons. Traditionally, baseball numbers are sacred, especially the home runs. The fact that the most sacred numbers in the sport have been surpassed by steroid users takes a lot of the mystique out of the game. Football has never been crazy over records the way baseball has.

Secondly, it's the absolute biggest stars in the game who are using steroids in baseball. Perhaps if the legends of football like Peyton Manning, Tom Brady and Brett Favre were enhancing their performances through steroids, football would be looked upon differently.

Also, football has done a better job of cleaning their own house. Baseball ignored the problem and let it grow until it was out of control. However, their are still problems in all sports. Maybe someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but there still isn't a test for HGH. Of course urine tests are going to catch a lot less people than blood tests and I don't think any of the leagues do blood tests. Again, I'm not sure on that last point, but I think that's the way it still works.

oar, no blood tests, yet. I don't know if the Players' Association will ever go for that.

Anyone see Miguel Tejada crying yesterday? Why do these guys lie under oath and think they can get away with it? Just because you're a superstar doesn't mean you can take 'roids and then lie about it under oath. I really don't care who was on steroids, but at least admit to it before you get put in jail. Why are they so stupid about it?

This will actually bring about interesting legal issues. I am not sure if Tejada is a US citizen or not but this could be bg stuff in an international legal case. who knows.

He's in America on a work visa. Anything he does here is punishable here, and, if they feel so inclined, they could remove it. Chances are that won't happen and he'll get something lesser like probation and a fine. The max he can get is 12 months in prison and 1,000 dollar fine.

Its basically the same as the Martha Stewart case. If he gets convicted and sent to prison he'll do at most 6 months in a 5 star correctional facility with maids and servants as the security guards. Nothing special.

Also heard that investigators are interested in speaking with A-Rod about the steroid situation.

Bud Selig wants to punish A-Rod for using steroids as well, even though in 2003 those that tested positive were not to be punished. If A-Rod gets punished, I say punish one punish all 104.
